Man Dies After Wife Crushes Testicles

ADDIS ABABA (Reuters) - An enraged Ethiopian mother of five will be tried for the murder of her husband who died after she crushed his testicles in a fight, police told the state-run Ethiopian News Agency.

Police said on Friday the man was so embarrassed after the incident that he declined to seek treatment for the injury, and died days later.

"Following a disagreement over the husband's spending habits, his wife refused to give him his dinner and also decided to sleep alone," police in the western region of Wellega said.

"The husband was so angered by this affront by his wife that he tried to beat her. In the melee that followed, the wife grabbed and twisted his testicles causing serious damage."

Police said the unnamed woman, a resident of Wayu-Tuka district in Wellega, had had several arguments with her husband about the amount of money he spent on booze.

MANILA (Reuters) - An irate Filipino housewife sliced off her husband's penis while he slept after she discovered text messages from another woman on his mobile phone.


A local radio station reported the woman rushed her husband to hospital in Manila Thursday when large amounts of blood flowed from his wound, but that she forgot to bring the severed piece of flesh.


Doctors were able to restore his manhood after she raced home to collect the missing piece. The man, a welder, told the radio station he had forgiven his wife.


Callers to the station, reacting to the news, offered helpful hints to wayward husbands such as never sleeping on their backs and always keeping mobile phones tucked under the pillow.

Transvestite Cuts off Penis
A New York transvestite is in critical condition after cutting off his penis and then telling police that he had been the victim of a hate crime.

Doctors at the Harlem Hospital Centre have not been able to reattach his penis and the 22-year-old man remains in intensive care.

According to the New York Post, the unnamed man lied to the police by claiming that a berserk gypsy cab driver had severed his penis in a fit of rage. But the cops grew suspicious after the victim`s story became inconsistent.

After interviewing the man again, police said they were able to determine the man made up the story.

The paper reports that initially the victim had said that the driver had sliced off his penis after a bizarre midnight taxi ride around Manhattan. He claimed he went to an apartment that he can no longer remember and was helped up the stairs by the cabbie.

Police said the victim then said that he requested he be taken to 158th Street and Edgecombe Avenue when the cabbie lashed into a tirade. "You`re a man, I hate people like you," the driver allegedly yelled at the man, before pulling out a knife and slicing his penis off.

JANUARY 7, 2004 - An unthinkable crime happened in the city of Alton. Officers say a man was in a rage and cut off part of his penis. He then walked over a mile for help.

Virgilio Maldonado found the body part.

He says as soon as he set foot on his job site, off of 6 Mile Line and Conway, he spotted a long trail of blood leading inside.

"It was a shock when we found the bloody machete and the man's penis next to it on a bag of concrete."

At first Maldonado couldn't or didn't want to believe what he had found.

"I thought maybe it was people hunting and that it was part of a rabbit. Then my son saw it and said no...that it was part of a man," he said.

Around the same time, Oscar Hernandez stumbled into the Alton Police Department pleading for help. Paramedics rushed him to the hospital bleeding heavily from his groin.

It wasn't until a half hour later that officers realized that Hernandez had cut himself - when doctors contacted them saying they were in dire need of the missing piece.

They launched a search, but luckily, Maldonado was already flagging down a patrolman to report the bizarre find.

"We told the police what we had discovered and he placed it in a bag with some ice."

A day later, Maldonado says he still can't believe Hernandez survived after severing his genitals.

"I thought maybe this was a jealous rage or a wife upset. I never thought that a man could do this to himself at least not one in his right mind."

Police now say Hernandez was not in his right mind. They claim he is mentally unstable and may have been off of his medication at the time.

He is now in stable condition at a McAllen hospital. Doctors were successfully able to re-attach the organ.

PENTICTON, B.C. -- A man who ran naked through down the street with blood gushing from his severed penis yesterday mutilated himself, said RCMP in this Okanagan city. Police received a report at about 2 p.m. of a man running down the street, screaming "Repent, repent, fornicators."

The 33-year-old Penticton man, who was wearing only a toque, was later found with his penis and testicles severed near a construction site.

Paramedics covered the struggling, bleeding man with a sheet and lifted him onto a stretch while he continued to yell.

Foul play is not suspected, said RCMP.

The man's severed parts were later found in his home and taken to hospital.

It wasn't known whether surgery would be performed to reattach the man's genitals.

The man was placed in police custody under the Mental Health Act.

RCMP will be conducting a background check on the man, said Staff Sgt. Tracy Hardy.

Cambodian cuts off penis to feed spirits

PHNOM PENH (Reuters) - A Cambodian man cut off his penis when he said he was visited by four hungry spirits in a dream and he had no chicken or duck to offer them.

According to police, 33-year-old Soun Ney told the spirits to go away when they first appeared to ask for food, and waved his penis at them in defiance.

"Devils, I don't have any chicken or duck for you," he was quoted as saying by local police chief Phoeung Vat. "If you want to eat anything, you can eat my penis."

Soun Ney said the spirits agreed to eat his penis. He was rushed to a hospital near the capital Phnom Penh after he castrated himself with a butcher's knife.

"He is lucky to be alive," Phoeung Vat told Reuters.

Villagers in the deeply impoverished southeast Asian traditionally offer chicken, duck or cake to the spirits of the dead to ward off bad luck.

A naked man found wandering around with his penis mutilated has shocked residents and baffled police.

Emergency services were called at 7.20am yesterday adter the distressed man, who was bleeding from the groin, knocked on a house door in Hope, about 16km southwest of Nelson.

The residents, who did not know the man, immediately called for help, Constable Pat Tunley of Richmond said.

The man, believed to be in his early 20s, ran off and was found soon after, apparently "shadow-boxing" on the road. He had a badly cut penis.

"The first reports were that it had been severed in half but that was getting a bit carried away by the sound of it," Mr Tunley said.

The man was taken by ambulance to to Wairau Hospital in Blenheim for surgery.

Police believed his injuries were self-inflicted, but did not know how or why they happened.

"We haven't found anything that could have been used as a weapon."

The man who frequently roamed the streets of Claxton Bay walked into the station around 5 p.m. Saturday and threatened the officers on duty. He then jumped over the counter and started acting violently, police said.

The officers arrested the man and locked him in a cell. Moments later, police said, they heard him shouting that a snake was in his pants.

A woman officer, who went to check on him, found him bleeding from the groin area. When she investigated, she found that the man was holding his testicles in his hands.

He was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital in a police vehicle, where he underwent emergency surgery. -CK

It's a fairly common form of revenge here in Thailand for women to cut their errant husband's dicks off while they're passed out drunk on Song Saem whisky, but the guys would be able to get them surgically reattatched. So those lovely Thai women now tie the severed members to helium balloons and let them go....
I know this has the ring of an urban myth, but the stories appear now and then in the Bangkok post, so next time I see one, I'll post it.

Kassel (Germany) - A Ghanaian man stabbed his wife to death after she cut off his penis with a breadknife, police in the central German city of Kessel said.

The 50-year-old woman died of her injuries in hospital after her husband, a 37-year-old man of Ghanaian origin, stabbed her during a domestic dispute on Wednesday.

The woman had previously sliced off her husband's penis during the fight.

Kassel - A man who lost his penis in a fight with his estranged wife admitted on Friday that he had cut off his own genitals before killing her, police in this central German city said.

Authorities said on Wednesday that it was the 50-year-old woman who had sliced off her 37-year-old husband's penis with a breadknife in a domestic dispute before he stabbed her.

She later died of her injuries in a local hospital.

Police said that the man had acknowledged during questioning that he had maimed himself but did not explain his motive. Surgeons on Wednesday sewed the severed organ back on after the man was detained.

The couple had been separated since the beginning of this month. The fight broke out when the wife paid a visit to the husband at his home.

When the argument continued outside, neighbours witnessed the castrated man stab his wife and alerted the police and emergency services.

Castration trial gets started; suspect flees

DURHAM -- A rare "malicious castration" trial got off to a shaky start Tuesday when it was revealed that the victim's house had been shot up the night before.

Then the suspect, 25-year-old Robert Duran Johnson, fled the courthouse after an afternoon break in the state's presentation of its case, police said.

Judge Wade Barber ordered that Johnson be tracked down and held without bond when caught. Before his disappearance, Johnson had been free on bond.

Later Tuesday, Durham CrimeStoppers issued a news release seeking information on his whereabouts. The release described Johnson as a black male about 6 feet tall and 170 pounds, and said he is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about Johnson is asked to call 911 immediately. CrimeStoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to his arrest.

Extra deputies ringed the courtroom Tuesday in which Johnson was on trial for kidnapping another man, beating him and shooting off his penis in what was portrayed as a gang-related altercation on Easter Sunday 2003.

In addition, hand-held metal detectors were used to search courtroom spectators, and some intimidated witnesses were offered police transportation to the trial.

Officers also reportedly were poised to guard the home of at least one witness overnight.

Assistant District Attorney John Phillips, who is Durham's gang prosecutor, said the castration victim, his parents and a young child were in the house Monday night when it was riddled with bullets. No one was reported injured.

"It's an outrageous situation," Phillips told Judge Barber.

"I agree," the judge said.

According to veteran court officials, the trial is the first time in memory that a castration charge has been prosecuted in Durham. Malicious castration is classified as a Class C felony. State law says the crime occurs when "any person, of malice aforethought, shall unlawfully castrate any other person, or cut off, maim or disfigure any of the privy members of any person, with intent to murder, maim, disfigure, disable or render impotent such person."

Outside of the jury's presence Tuesday, Durham police investigator L.S. Campbell said she believed the incident occurred partly because the victim had left the Bloods street gang. According to Campbell, the victim and Johnson apparently got into an argument over clothing the victim was wearing.

"He was told that since he was no longer a Blood, he couldn't wear the particular color he was wearing," she testified.

Campbell did not specify the color in question. However, it is widely known that Bloods gang members generally wear red.

However, Phillips was unable to elicit any reference to gang activity when the victim took the witness stand Tuesday.

The victim said the incident began as he was walking on Alston Avenue on April 20, 2003. He said a man named Xavier Dominique Johnson drove by and made a U-turn, coming after him. The victim said he got into a taxi, but Xavier Johnson followed the cab closely, occasionally running red lights to keep up.

When the victim finally got out of the cab, Robert Johnson put a .40-caliber gun to his head and forced him into the sport utility vehicle driven by Xavier Johnson, the victim testified.

"They was riding me around, pistol-whipping me, kicking me in the head," he said. "They rode me all through town. The whole time he [Robert Johnson] continued kicking me and beating me. He said he was going to make an example out of me."

The vehicle eventually stopped on Hearthside Street, where Robert Johnson pulled the victim out and continued to beat him, the victim testified. He said he was lying on the ground when Johnson shot him.

"It went through my leg and my penis and my other leg," he told jurors.

The victim said physicians sewed his penis back on.

"But it still ain't right," he testified. "They told me I can't have kids. It's just not normal like it used to be."

The victim added that Johnson has apologized twice for shooting him.

"I have forgave him," he said. "Who am I to say what his punishment should be?"

On cross-examination, defense lawyer Robert Harris asked the victim if he wasn't carrying his own .40-caliber weapon on the day of the shooting.

"Did they find one on me?" the man snapped. "You're asking me a question. I'm just giving it back to you. I don't tote a .40-caliber weapon."

Meanwhile, veteran police officer Henry Burwell testified that the gunshot wound to the victim's groin was the worst he had ever seen.

The trial continues today.

Xavier Johnson, who is not Robert Johnson's brother, also faces kidnapping, assault, conspiracy and malicious castration charges in connection with the incident. He will be tried at a later date.

Police previously have validated both Johnsons as members of the Bloods gang.

Bangkok - A migrant worker from Myanmar cut off his own penis on Friday after drinking himself into a rage when his wife refused to have sex with him, Thai police said.

Po Dong, 29, a dock worker at the Thai port of Samut Prakan, initially attempted intercourse with his wife, Kate, on Thursday night.

When she refused he stayed up all night drinking whiskey and made another attempt on Friday, Samut Prakan Police Major Narong Simsawat quoted witnesses as saying.

When this attempt at intimacy also was rebuffed, Po Dong flew into a rage and severed his penis with a pair of scissors. He then cut the severed member into several pieces and stabbed himself in the stomach while screaming abuse at his wife.

He then collapsed and was carried to Samut Prakan Hospital where he was reported in serious but stable condition on Friday afternoon.

"His penis can't be reconnected because it's in small pieces," Narong said. "We questioned the wife and she was very sorry. She said he shouldn't have made such a big issue out of it." - Sapa-dpa

I've been reading the memoirs of a British pathologist who had an interesting penis-cutting case.

A young man was spurned by a woman during a night out drinking. So he drunkenly went off and beat a random acquaintance to death and went home.
He later returned to the corpse, cut off the penis and posted it through the unfortunate girl's letterbox. :eek:

The body was further mutilated and one of the testicles was never found. Very disturbing.
 
I don't know of the specifics of that case, but I'm left with the impression that the murderer/penis remover wasn't responsible for all of the mutilation.

Makes it sound like a car that's abandoned by the side of the road, and people start nicking bits off it and vandalising it.

Not that I would be surprised terribly to discover this was the case.
 
It happened in April 1972 in Farnworth, Lancashire, and the perpetrator was called Melvyn Harrison, and yes, he was the only attacker involved.

RABAT (Reuters) - A 70-year-old Moroccan cut off his penis in protest at his wife's long refusal to have sex with him, hospital sources say.

The unidentified man severed his organ on Monday in the southern town of Ait Ourir and was taken to a hospital in the nearby city of Marrakesh for treatment.

"He didn't bring his penis with him. He has left the hospital well, but without his penis," a doctor from the Ibn Toufail hospital told Reuters on Saturday.

A Malaysian truck driver who found his wife having sex with a neighbour in a car castrated him with a machete before stabbing him and fleeing, local media reported on Monday.

The 34-year-old woman drove off in the car with her mortally-wounded lover beside her -- both of them still naked -- but crashed into a ditch after travelling a few kilometres (miles) near Semberan south of Kuala Lumpur.

The mother-of-three was uninjured but the man, N. Govidaraj, 39, was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital, several newspapers reported.

Kuala Lumpur - A Malaysian man died after having his penis nearly hacked off by his neighbour when he was caught having sex with the suspect's wife, news reports said on Monday.

The 39-year old man brought the 34-year-old woman to a deserted housing estate late on Saturday. They were allegedly in the midst of an act of passion when the woman's enraged husband suddenly appeared, the official Bernama news agency reported.

The suspect allegedly attacked the victim, who was naked, and slashed at his penis until it was nearly severed. The suspect then fled.

The woman then attempted to bring her lover to a clinic for treatment, but was involved in a minor car accident on the way. By the time police arrived at the scene of the accident, the victim had died.

RENO, Nev. (AP) - A 45-year-old Reno woman pleaded guilty to a charge of hiring an undercover detective to cut off her husband's genitals.

Margaret Lynn Wilson entered the plea Tuesday in Washoe District Court to felony conspiracy to commit murder.

Sentencing was set for Sept. 21 for Wilson, who faces up to 10 years in prison and a ,000 fine on the charge.

At Tuesday's hearing, Wilson admitted to hiring the detective to hurt or kill her husband on July 3 because she thought he was cheating on her.

Beijing - A man who killed six men in Beijing and then cut off their genitals has been executed, state media reported on Friday.

The victims had all gang-raped Li Yijiang, 25, before he went on his murderous campaign of vengeance, the Beijing Today newspaper said.

Li killed the six between late 2002 and early 2003, in all cases cutting off their genitals.

Police linked the murders by discovering that all six were regular visitors to the same pornographic website and then managed to follow the trail to Li, who was arrested in August last year, the paper said.

In his confession, Li said he first logged on to the website after moving to Beijing from remote Xinjiang region to attend university, where he had access to the Internet.

He was gang-raped after meeting the six men at a disco.

After the rape, Li lured each man separately to his death, the paper said.

China is in the midst of a "people's war" against pornography on the Internet, and has closed down hundreds of sites and arrested dozens of people.

Beijing has also launched a crackdown on adult-oriented entertainment venues and businesses surrounding schools and universities in a drive to stamp out negative influences on young people.

The blitz reflects two top concerns of the Chinese leadership - the ethical standards of the young and the subversive potential of the Internet.
