Missing In Action: Members Who've Gone Silent / Haven't Been Seen For Some Time

All this coming and going reminds me of a joke I once told Mary Whitehouse;
Why is a woman like a hurricane?
Because when she comes she's warm and wet and when she leaves she takes your house and car with her.
I hope it made Mary laugh!

Happy New Year to All!
I have been taking care of my husband, it only took 4 Months to get him booked for Surgery, which is this Friday, February 10.
Started with pain in his left leg and foot, our general doctor sent him for an imaging test, she then sent him to a Vascular Specialist, because the test showed trouble with an artery.
This specialist surgeon sent him for many more tests, we went back and forth to see him many times. Then this specialist had to have his own surgery, and never returned, so my husband was transferred to another surgeon, who sent him for many more tests to get a closer look at this artery, which is narrowing in his groin area.
The holidays came up, more waiting, then finally the surgeon wanted 'medical clearance' to book him for surgery, that clearance signed by his general doctor.
She refused to sign, but sent him to a Cardiologist (heart specialist) and a Pulmonary (lung) specialist to sign for him. The cardiologist gave him an EKG (his third!) and signed, the pulmonary specialist sent him to a hospital for a breathing test.
Had never been to this hospital, which is not close, had to park on the sixth floor of their parking garage, then had security take photos of us and our id, (it felt like we were at some government agency) but he passed the test with no problem, the results being sent to the lung doctor for his clearance signature.
Well the lung specialist put his phones on answering service for a week, and did not return calls. We were waiting for his clearance, as the last step for booking, and in desperation I had to run to his office in person. After a long wait, he finally gave me his signature.
Well the surgeon booked him at our local hospital, and we thought everything was fine.
One week before the surgery, this past Friday, my husband got a letter of Denial from our medical insurance company, a refusal to allow this surgery, whereupon it was hours on the phone to reason with these *****.
To make a long story short, he was finally approved.
It only took four months and hundreds of dollars for each test that he was ordered to have, and now I wish I had made a log of all the tests, because it must have been a dozen or more, and some of them were repeats.
I know my husband will be happy when this is over and done with, but I think I will be even happier!

This sounds absolutely terrible. I hope that this will soon be behind you and your husband.

Great to see you're back - I was getting worried!

Oh bloody 'ell Ronnie what fiasco! Well done for for getting this far in spite of all the obstructions at every turn. I was appalled to read what you have both been going through. :(. All the very best for a quick recovery! Welcome back.xxx

Ronnie, I’m sorry for your troubles and the grief you and your husband have been put through.
Im having problems with an NHS surgeon at present but mine pale into insignificance when compared to what you and your husband have been subjected to.

Well, 'normal' for New Jersey anyway.

...!

Something to say, cafone?

A 'concrete overcoat' for me then.
I knew someone who actually hung out with that crowd, I think she did it for protection, she was divorced with two little boys.
She became the girlfriend of a much older man who was married and quite huge, he was very good to her and bought her a house in her own name.
They really do exist, and no one messes with them.
And there is a family a few blocks from here, we've known them forever, and hear the rumors periodically.
