Going back to the man in a little van thing, a couple of months ago I had a strange experience.
It was dark. I'd parked at Tescos and when I returned to my car I spent a second or two cleaning the frost off the windscreen and the door mirror.
Then, as I was setting off, a small van in the row of cars opposite turned on its lights. I flashed my lights to let him go, but he just stayed there. So I waited, and flashed my lights again. He still didn't move, and I could see the driver staring at me.
I got the feeling that he really wanted me to go first.
With this in mind, I thought I would get rid of him by turning into the Tescos petrol station and filling up...but he followed me!
So I took my sweet time filling up, and took the opportunity to give the guy a look as he was filling up. He went and paid, then I went and paid after he had come out.
I stayed in the shop, dithering. Even though he had paid, he was still there, waiting.
So I spent some time staring hard out of the window at him.
Finally, he got the message, and drove off.
Maybe I'm reading too much into the situation, but I think I'd had an encounter with a psychopath who had tried to target me. The whole thing had an 'odd' feel to it.
