Mysteriously Hidden, Abandoned Or Discarded Money

Over 7.5 years ago a Houston mega-church reported a break-in and theft of an estimated $600,000 in cash. Now, a plumber working in one of the mega-church's bathrooms discovered more than 500 envelopes containing cash and checks hidden inside a wall. There's no word yet regarding whether the money found is the money 'stolen' in 2014.

A plumber working at Joel Osteen's mega-church in Houston found a large amount of money hidden inside a wall seven years after $600,000 was reported stolen during a break-in.

The plumber ... called into a KILT-FM morning show to recount how he found envelopes full of cash and checks inside a wall while doing work at the Lakewood Church, which is led by Osteen and his wife, Victoria. ...

"There was a loose toilet in the wall, and we removed the tile," the plumber said. "We went to go remove the toilet, and I moved some insulation away and about 500 envelopes fell out of the wall, and I was like 'Oh wow.'"

The Lakewood Church confirmed the discovery in a statement provided to KHOU-TV. The amount of the discovered money was not disclosed. ...

The discovery comes after about $600,000 was reported stolen during a break-in at the church in March 2014.

Update ...

The cash and checks the plumber discovered seem to be at least part of the missing money from 2014. The plumber has now been given $25,000 as a reward.

A California woman made a startling discovery after bringing home a set of sofas she found on Craigslist -- more than $36,000 in cash hidden inside one of the cushions.

It all started when Vicky Umodu, of Colton in San Bernardino County, started looking through online ads for furniture for her new home.

As she scrolled through Craigslist, she found two sofas and a matching chair that someone was giving away for free. ...

It turns out the family that was giving away the furniture explained that a loved one had recently passed away, and they were liquidating everything on the property.

Umodu said the two sofas and chair worked perfectly in her new home. ...

But when she got home and was examining the sofas more closely, she discovered something strange. There was some kind of unknown item inside one of the cushions. ...

When she finally unzipped the cushion and looked inside, she discovered several envelopes filled with thousands of dollars in cash. ...

Umodu said she was never tempted to keep what she found. She said she immediately gave the money back to the family who gave her the furniture. ...

Umodu said when she returned the money, the family told her they had discovered other cash hidden throughout the rest of the house, but only a few hundred dollars.

The family is not sure why the deceased man may have hidden so much money inside his couch.

As a way of saying thank you, they agreed to give Umodu $2,200, money she needed to buy a new refrigerator. ...

A couple of *spit* YouTubers called Simonsson and Deman bought a house and hired some people to renovate it. The renovators found a hidden compartment containing gold and platinum bars, worth about 1 million euro. Now it will go through the swedish courts to determine ownership.
