He's just following the bit in the Bible that says 'love thy neighbour'.
The disgraced former Co-operative Bank boss Paul Flowers has criticised the church for defrocking him after his drug and rent boy binge, saying they could have acted “with a bit more grace”.
kick the Bishop
Or just bash him. Would have been a better use of his time.
Murderous Monk! Why didn't he just kick the Bishop?
Prosecutors in Egypt have charged a defrocked monk with the murder of a Coptic Christian Bishop at a desert monastery.
Bishop Epiphanius, 64, was found dead in a pool of blood at Saint Macarius Monastery in Wadi Natroun, north-west of Cairo, on 29 July. Wael Saad, who had been a monk at the monastery, reportedly told prosecutors he used an iron pole to bludgeon the bishop to death. The possible motive is not yet clear.
The murder of Bishop Epiphanius shocked the Coptic Church, whose adherents make up about 10% of Egypt's population. Wael Saad, who as a monk was known as Isaiah al-Makari, was stripped of his religious title following the bishop's death. The church initially said it was because he had been investigated over long-standing violations of his duties. ...

https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw...-sex-abuse-at-nsw-school-20190413-p51dt3.htmlA Catholic priest has been charged in Sydney for alleged sex abuse against multiple children at a Southern Highlands boarding school during the 1980s.
Police say that Father Anthony Caruana, 77, indecently assaulted five children aged 12 to 15 when he was a dormitory manager, rugby coach and band teacher at Chevalier College.
The abuse allegedly took place between 1982 and 1988.
Detectives launched Strike Force Caber last July to investigate reports of sexual and indecent assaults at the Burradoo boarding school during the 1980s.
Their inquiries led them to arrest Father Caruana at a home in Kensington in Sydney's eastern suburbs on Friday.
Police charged the man with six sexual assaults and acts of indecency on a child younger than 16 and two offences of gross indecency on a boy.
He was granted strict conditional bail and will face Waverley Local Court on May 22.

This is the high school that both my wife and I went to (we both knew him) and our youngest son went to as well.
I take it none of you came to harm?
Making a Modly note that so far it is charged and not convicted.
Everyone has a hate button. It is called a nose.We need a 'hate' button.
I thought it made Prince Charles look worse than Andrew. He even gave that pervert a house and yet there’s nothing in the papers about that.Re Peter Ball, former Bishop of Gloucester, the recent documentary was very enlightening. Not least in the letters of support from a close friend of his, that included the sentence “I’ll see off this horrid man if he tries anything again.”
I mean do they call me Bill the farmer? No, you shag just one sheep.....Bishop Daniel added: "I have always respected the priest in question and I will continue to respect him. You cannot discount all the good a person has done in their life just because of one mistake."

Just one mistake..?
Pope Francis asked Cardinal Vincent Nichols, the leader of the Catholic church in England and Wales, to stay in his post, despite a damning report that criticised his leadership and concluded that the church repeatedly prioritised its reputation over the welfare of child sex abuse victims.
In its final review of the church, the independent inquiry into child sexual abuse (IICSA) said the Vatican’s failure to cooperate with the investigation “passes understanding”.
