Yup, looks pretty butchered to me. They never referred to themselves as Thunderbirds, IIRC they only referred to the vehicles by that name. What happened to calling themselves International Rescue? (O.K. You're right. I'm extremely sad. ) Also, is it just me, or does it look like very much like Spy Kids with big aircraft and spacecraft?
