Warwickshire, pish posh! I reckon Northamptonshire has a great claim for being one of the most haunted counties in England.

When I arrived from Africa in about 1990, I ended up in a small village in Northamptonshire, just around the corner from Naseby (as in Battle of Naseby).

It was quite commonly accepted that there was a hge amount of ghostly activity around the old battlefield site (whihc has now, unfortunately, had the A14 dual carriageway built right through it). I know people who swear blind that they have heard noises from the battle and seen countless ghostly Roundhead/Cavalier soldiers mooching about.

Furthermore, there's also a local legend of witchcraft, which is more folklore than Fortean.

and just outside this village, there is a crossroads where was once erected a gibbet, and people have reported strange sightings of ghosts on that site.

Here's a link to a short list of other haunted places in the county.

Well, based on the website you quoted above, Northamptonshire beats Warwickshire 124 to 98.
