The perfect title for this thread has been taken - "Growing Old. Death Approaches." - but this episode of the original Twlight Zone is worth promoting to anyone who hasn't seen it (or not for a long while).
It's chiefly remembered for starring a pre-movie star Robert Redford, but is a really effective and moving little play. You can well imagine JB Priestly penning it. You'll see what I mean. An old lady is living in fear of dying and tries to barricade herself in from Mr Death.....The lead, Gladys Cooper, is wonderfully convincing as a frightened old woman at life's end.
