What possibly could the circumstances be? Could it be a coded message?

I doubt if a coded message would draw attention to itself so luridly. So many details and no clear narrative. The volunteer status, the cleaning oif the basin, the amputation of a hand seem to be details that loom large in someone's disturbed thoughts . . .

"I'm Barbara The Basin and I'll smash your f...... face in" seems to have been a short-lived meme on reddit - presumably a tribute to the redoubtable lady in the picture and her forthright views! That seems to have blown up two years after the mysterious ad.

I think it is one of those folds in the universe that no one was ever meant to detect. Now you've torn it!
