Activist, Heidi Harmon, decides to travel to Climate Change Rally in an electric car but discovers lengthy charging times and lack of recharge points prevents her from arriving in time.
(TBH it probably says more about her inability to plan her journey, taking into account the extra time needed, than it does about the electric car itself)

Or she could've charged her dumb car at her house the night before her "big trip" of 80 km from San Jose to San Fransisco.

Indeed, as per my inclusion of.....
her inability to plan her journey
lol.
I was particularly amused by the indignation she expressed when she realised that the car would not be charged until 7.30pm, as though it was some sort of surprise to her that it takes hours to recharge, and also her search for a suitable, working charger being so difficult.

Firefighter injured during exercise at campsite in Starnmeer

During a fire drill at a campsite in the North Holland town of Starnmeer, a firefighter was injured. The care provider was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries, reports the Zaanstreek-Waterland Safety Region.

According to witnesses, the fire brigade held an exercise for cutting down trees at the naturist site. In addition, a tree would have fallen in the wrong direction, hitting the firefighter, reports NH Nieuws.

After the incident, several ambulances and a trauma helicopter were called. Witnesses report that the fire brigade holds more exercises in this area.

Looks like the kind of source Maximus would find agreeable.

Calling EVs useless is not a sign of intelligence. We own one, and it's the cheapest wheels we've had in a long time. Pull yer heads out!

Yes, the woman did some dumb things. Gasp! A human doing a poor job of planning a trip! The mind reels. It must be because she owns an electric car.

Winter Olympics in China being disrupted by too much snow.
This after the authorities were criticised for using fake snow for 100% of the events due to the climate there not being suitable to sustain holding the Winter Olympics in the first place.

The British expat who was the victim of a shark attack in Sydney, Australia, on Wednesday had previously voiced his objection to protective nets placed around beaches.

The nets are designed to keep sharks away and are placed around beaches in the water.

Although they are not completely effective, they help to reduce the number of sharks that enter the area they protect.

The attack on 35-year-old Simon Nellist was Sydney’s first fatal shark attack in nearly 60 years.

It is believed 35-year-old Simon Nellist, who has not yet been formally identified by police, was training for a forthcoming charity swim when he was fatally attacked in front of horrified onlookers in Sydney’s Little Bay.
