So the witnesses to the 2016 Pentyrch, Wales UFO incident are about to release their book:

I imagine many forum members are familiar with this case, and it is possible release might create quite a lot of renewed media interest and throw this incident back into the public spotlight. Here is an example of how it was reported at the time:

There was certainly a large amount of military activity and a lot of aircraft noise that p*ssed off the residents. First up, I would love to have been by the cold, dark Welsh gateway at 2am that morning and observed the light show the witnesses have described along with the military aircraft low-flying overhead. The witnesses claim of seeing a giant, triangular UFO comprised of red flights that materialised in the night sky in front of them following intense military aircraft reconnaissance of the area. Later on a huge explosion was heard from the direction of nearby woods. There were other lights witnessed that appeared to exhibit controlled flight behaviour and you can read their side of the events here:

And an extended YouTube interview here:

Unfortunately, there has been an explanation put forward that this was a planned military exercise involving parachutists and thus all manner of green and red flares and lights:

I don't agree with every conclusion reached on that particular forum but this one is very convincing. They have even tracked down the no-fly zone notices (NOTAMs) that clearly state the time and location of the military activity and that parachutists would be involved, and these match the timings of the witnesses' experience. The epicentre location was in fact Llantrisant to the west of Pentyrch, which would concur with parachute flares being viewed from a distance.

Or was that the cover-up? It would be fantastic to hear from the witnesses on this forum and as a Fortean I must remain open-minded as to what they saw. Just wish I had been there...!
