I knew this was bound to happen.

'Never be an early adopter', I said.

And I was right. These damn androids are going faulty, dangerously.

The company website's at:
http://www.personasynthetics.com/personasynthetics/productrecall/

If you bought via Ebay, here's the link http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Persona-Synthetics/productrecall

Next-door neighbour's got one. His paces about the place, with a brush, at 2am, and I hate to think what else it gets up to.

I'm so glad I didn't buy one. Renting's got far more advantages, especially if they're going faulty like this. Mine'll be a priority to get fixed. It's been a bit quiet today, I'll just go and see what it's been doing.....

That's a shame. I'd ordered a quartet (buy three, get one free) in the hopes of training them up to perform Kraftwerk's greatest hits at social functions, church fêtes etc. Bah!

Spotted on the roads of Scotland this week: large trucks (driven by, presumably, non-synthetic humans) marked-up as Persona Synthetics android collection and delivery service.

Had warnings on them regarding the Product Recall. I'm unsure if I've now seen the same one twice, or if there's a huge fleet (trucks, not androids).

The vehicles appear to operated/owned by Team Logistics (a real-world company...presumably with some training & experience in the collection of potentially-violent faulty humanoid robots?). They're just curtain-sided soft-skinned trucks, so hopefully the drivers will remember to disconnect/remove batteries, restrain, or carry out a full reset on the synths before driving off....

Here's the latest update on the 'product recall' campaign https://www.creativereview.co.uk/channel-4s-humans-returns-clever-advertising-campaign/

I hope they were charged in Glasgow! 3:)

(EDIT- @Frideswide is that actually George Square, from a weird angle?)

Charged as in Parking Penalties? Bound to have had a ticket stuck on 'em.

Charged as in became connected to a street power charging socket? Now that would be a weird sight to see....

Strange connections

It's OK! We are married! :p

Having watched the TV ad a few times it is easy to see why people are taken in. It is so realistic.

Min_bannister,

I'm told they come with various 'attachments' ?

Always reminds me of the robot arm scene in 'Big Bang Theory'.

I wonder if Howard ever fixed it.

I suppose you guys have already had that conversation.

The one where, if androids were so realistic that you couldn't tell the difference between them and humans, would it matter if you woke up in bed with one. Especially if you discovered this post coitus.

'Sorry Dave, I'll have to go and recharge my battery. By the way, you were wonderful'.

...It bled quite a lot...

Amazing how realistic they are these days.

But if it says 'not tonight, dear. I have a headache'. Then I suggest you upgrade to the latest model.

Last episode tonight. I have been really enjoying this. It was slightly shaky to start with but once I got into it. I love all the human/synth interactions good and bad. Great stuff. "Gemma Chan" is obviously a real synth though.

I take it that you saw the 'uncanny valley' documentary with her ?

No, is it still available to watch somewhere?

Anyway, the ending, I don't know how to do the spoiler thing so I will just say ..

Min_bannister,

Enter

'Humans _ All4' in your browser and it should take you to

www.channel4.com/programs/humans

Rise of the machines,,,,How to build a human.

I had a bit of trouble getting to this.

The direct link comes back saying the page doesn't exist. But it does, I've just used it to watch the trailer.

Maybe subscribing to Channel 4 will do it.

It is worth the trouble to watch the full episode if you can get it on Channel 4 catchup or something like that.

Highlight the text you want to hide with a 'spoiler tag'.

Go to "+" in the menu bar over the post editor. It'll give you a 'spoiler' option.
Click it...

Great, thanks Coal. I am glad it wasn't too obvious!

I can't believe Matty pressed that button. I know we like Mia but who knows how many other killbots like Hester are out there? I suppose it could mean there is another series though!
