Raising Atlantis: Raising Dogger Bank To Bypass Planning Restrictions

The plan sounds as well-formed as that of South Park’s Underpant Gnomes.

Perhaps instead of lowering the sea and raising the land, money may be better spent in developing a floating town and then a city. At least that would be more useful if the sea levels are predicted to rise and may actually prove to be a scientific model for the future of human habitation on the planet.

I can’t see anyone with the foresight to carry out my mad scheme though.

I hate to sound negative, but I think reclaiming Doggerland is a much bigger engineering challenge than they may think it is.
As to what could be built there... maybe that's where we should build a gigantic prison? It would certainly keep mainland Britain as a low-crime area. Maybe share the costs and the facilities with Belgium, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands?
Like a SuperEuroDoggerland?

The ground would never be stable enough to build on. Singapore Airport is built on reclaimed land and underneath the airport are hundreds and hundreds of giant jacks that have to be checked and adjusted daily due to subsidance.
