The Wedding is taking place at "The Free Church" which is definitely St Ives Cambridgeshire. The Cross in the background of image 12 is the War memorial on Market Hill

Thanks for that!

I wonder who the family was? The fact that the slides were sold off is rather sad.

George Ellis pictures from the Cornish Studies Library
Checking through these photos I saw the one for St Pratt's sheep fair. The name tickled my memory but I could not recall how. A brief search found St Pratt or St Proto or St Protus was a saint of Blisland Church, he full name of the Church being St Protus and St Hyacinth. Now Blisland Church is one of my favourites as it has a magnificent rood screen

Sweet!

It got me thinking about that mural in Amsterdam which may or may not still be there, where the guy is getting bummed by the bollard... I have a pic of it somewhere but can't put my hand on it right now.

So have this instead:

Here's a good picture, 'borrowed' from the Through the Gaps fishing newsletter.

It shows the old moon in morning twilight over Mounts Bay, with
gulls and an anchored ship as nautical trimmings!

Right, I'm going to get serious. The Fox and Hound? (Not hounds. Hound. As there is clearly only one hound.)

Close enough. The pub is the Fox and Hounds, at Comford Cross, near Lanner.

Don't blame me for the singular hound (or the mangy fox) however - I didn't design or make the weathervane! Maybe the landlord who originally commissioned it was too stingy to pay for more than one hound. Or perhaps he just found the weathervane ready-made somewhere, and decided it would go with the pub.
