Seriously?

That was going round when they were at Maine Road.
Not a photoshop. I checked the Man City website for confirmation.

A slow tour of these places.

A man is embarking on a 1,800-mile tour on a 50cc moped of places with rude and funny names.

Paul Taylor, from Wantage, Oxfordshire, is making the charity fundraising trip in memory of a friend who died of cancer. His journey will begin in Shitterton, Dorset, on Wednesday and will take in locations such as Twatt in Orkney and Booze in the Yorkshire Dales. Mr Taylor's Slovenian Tomos XL45 Classic has a top speed of 28mph.

He said he chose Shitterton, near Bere Regis, as his starting point because of its "appealing" name.

"Everyone starts a long journey like that from Lands End to John O' Groats - I wanted to do something similar, with a bit of twist," he said.

If he'd gone over to Orkney or Shetland, he could have taken in Twatt.

There's actually loads of 'memorabilia' (being polite) in shops in Stromness, with 'Twatt' written all over it.

I'm obviously at a loose end; but I've always been fond of Merdrignac, in the French departement of Cotes d'Armor ("merde" in French being --
well, no need to dot i's and ...). With this area being in Brittany; I'd surmise that the name is a "francisisation" of something totally innocent and boring in the Breton language.

Sorry I didn't see this while Enola was with us. They were certainly stretching things beyond schoolboy level in calling some of these rude or suggestive. I'm surprised the New York list doesn't include Woodbury. We have two: a town upstate and a hamlet on Long Island.

Multiple places used to have a road with the same name because towns always had a street devoted to a particular thing.
Often something like (eg) 'Coopers Road', 'Brewers Lane', or 'Church Street'.
But....

I'm currently testing a postcode processing API and have had fun seeing how it copes with unusual postcodes.

The following two were quite amusing:

BH20 7HU
KW17 2LN

I wonder how the residents of the latter refer to themselves?
