Several reports in and around the towns of East Kilbride and south Lanarkshire have described encounters with a "bulbous eyed man, with blue skin, and soft, yellow flesh on his palms and throat." (East Kilbride News 1994)
This comes after years of speculation by UFO enthusiasts, among others, that genetic experiments were taking place in East Kilbride's national Engineering laboratory.
The fishman - perhaps a misunderstood/mistook unfortunate - is currently the folktale of choice among local taxi drivers.
