"Honour" Serial Killers.

An Iranian couple have been arrested for drugging, murdering and dismembering their film-maker son, Babak Khorramdin, 47, and also confessed to killing their daughter and son-in-law in the same way years earlier.

The case has stunned Iran, where it has been splashed across the front pages of newspapers with headlines including “Society in shock” and “Occupants of terror house”.

It also prompted intense discussion on social media about a legal system that offers relative leniency to parents who kill their offspring. Murder is usually a capital offence in Iran but people who kill their children face a maximum of 10 years in jail.
Khorramdin’s parents could still face the death penalty, however, if they are put on trial for the murder of their son-in-law.

The film-maker’s murder was discovered in the early hours of Sunday morning. Police were called to the Tehran suburb of Ekbatan after someone spotted human body parts in a bin, local media reported, quoting the judge, Mohammad Shahriari, the head of the Tehran criminal court.

Police found human remains, including two hands, and used fingerprints to identify the victim. They then went to the house of Khorramdin’s parents.

Iran Khorramdin, 74, and Akbar Khorramdin, 81, told police they had used sleeping tablets to knock their son out before suffocating and stabbing him, and cutting up his body, the Hamshahri newspaper reported.

After being taken into custody, the couple confessed they had also killed their son-in-law 10 years previously, and their daughter three years ago, in the same way. Some of the discussion of the case on social media focused on why the couple’s disappearance had not prompted an investigation. ...

Court officials said the parents seemed largely of sound mind but they needed to investigate further. They are also reportedly looking into whether any other family members might be missing in suspicious circumstances. ...

Well, anno domini an' all that.
Death sentence by execution or restraint until natural causes, the only debate is cost and morality.

I read a while back that the age expectancy of young black men on death row in LA was higher than those on the street.

This is horrifying; five elderly couples who were ruled to have died in murder/suicide incidents are now believed to have possibly been murdered by a third party. There may be more victims.
How harrowing for their families. It would have been bad enough at the time but to have it all raked up again must be traumatic.

Cheshire police examine serial killer theory in five couples' deaths

Seems the whole thing was a figment of someone's imagination so I dunno what's gone on!

Coroner’s officer faces sack after warning of ‘secret’ serial killer

An investigator who raised questions about police inquiries into the deaths of elderly couples has been suspended and may face charges

A senior coroner’s officer who sounded the alarm about a possible serial killer of elderly couples is now being investigated by police.

Stephanie Davies, an investigator who works for Cheshire police under the direction of the coroner, raised concerns about two cases where husbands were thought to have gone berserk and murdered their wives before killing themselves.

She was so concerned about a multiple murderer that she examined the cases herself and wrote a detailed report highlighting inconsistencies in the original police investigations.

After evaluating the cases using modern techniques and consulting forensic experts, she found both were more likely to have been double murders and identified three further suspicious murder-suicides of elderly couples in northwest England.

I read a while back that the age expectancy of young black men on death row in LA was higher than those on the street.
I didn't see the article, but I imagine that much hinges on the definition of "those on the street."

No all young black men are part of that sub culture that carries the attendant risks of drugs and violence.

Maybe it is true that a young black man who is part of that particular sub culture lives longer on average if he is caught and sent to Death Row than if he is left to fight and die in a world of gangs and drugs.

That would sort of make sense: removal from a situation of daily risk and hostility into a situation in which, if anything, supporters are fighting to save or at least prolong your life.

Man convicted for killing 2 women 10 years apart

He was violent & controlling with his partners.

In 2007 when he’d be about 18 his ex-girlfriend who’d taken out a protection order against him, vanished.

In 2016, after being released from prison on drug trafficking charges, he met another woman at a party. She vanished & her car was found burnt out in a remote area.

Seven months later, mushroom pickers found human remains. The bones were found to be the two women buried close together.

He went on trial this year, tried to blame his half-brother who’d committed suicide in prison. He’d previously admitted setting fire to the car.

In April this year, the jury found Yust not guilty of first-degree murder but guilty of manslaughter for Kara’s death and second-degree murder for Jessica’s death.

Yust, now 32, got the maximum 15 years for Kara’s death and life for Jessica’s.

In Missouri, a life sentence is capped at 30 years and his terms will run consecutively – meaning a total of 45 years behind bars.

So he's been self-identified by a confession after his death and was a policeman.

A Texas man invited people into his motel room. Then he sacrificed them and set them on fire, police say.

Outside of the Mid City Inn in Euless, Texas, Jason Alan Thornburg was often seen reading his Bible, talking about God and expressing a desire to help people. He would pass out religious fliers and invite people into his room, denizens of the inn told local news stations.

But now police allege Thornburg's room is where, in a matter of days, he killed three people, dismembered their bodies and stored their remains in plastic containers. Police also said Thornburg, 41, is believed to have transported the remains to a dumpster 25 miles away from the inn where he set them on fire, according to an arrest affidavit. He described the killings to police as "sacrifices," the affidavit states.

Thornburg has been charged in the killings of the three people - a 42-year-old man named David Lueras and two women police have not publicly identified. But the killings were not Thornburg's first, he told police in an interview before his arrest on Monday, according to the affidavit. Thornburg said that, in May, he sacrificed his roommate by slicing his throat in Fort Worth and setting their home ablaze, the affidavit states. Police had been investigating the death of the roommate, 61-year-old Mark Jewell.

When police asked if he had committed more sacrifices, Thornburg said he had also sacrificed the body of his girlfriend in Arizona, according to the affidavit.

Around Sept. 17, Lueras showed up at Thornburg's room, No. 113 at the Mid City Inn, and stayed with him, according to the affidavit. But Thornburg told investigators that he believed Lueras needed to be sacrificed. So Thornburg cut his throat and dismembered his body using a straight blade in the room's bathtub, Thornburg told police, the affidavit states. Thornburg allegedly kept the remains in plastic storage bins.

About two days later, a female acquaintance of Thornburg's stopped by, and Thornburg told police he believed she, too, needed to be sacrificed, according to court records. So he cut her throat, dismembered her body and stored her remains in storage tubs, according to the affidavit.

Two days later, another woman showed up. Thornburg told police he strangled her after initially trying to stab her, according to the affidavit. Like the others, he dismembered her body and placed the remains in storage tubs, the affidavit states.

Neighbors began noticing a strong odor wafting up from Thornburg's room, WFAA reported.

On Sept. 21, late at night, police believe Thornburg transported the remains of all three victims to a dumpster and set it on fire.

The next morning, police found the mutilated bodies.

There hasn't been much to report. Until a trial begins there's nothing much to say that's not speculation and therefore contempt of court.

There are a website and Twitter account set up by her supporters though.

Escaped Kenyan serial killer beaten to death by mob.

"A mob in western Kenya has killed a self-confessed serial killer who escaped from custody two days ago, police say.

Masten Wanjala was traced by villagers to a house in Bungoma town and beaten to death, they say.

Authorities had launched a massive manhunt for the fugitive who admitted to killing more than 10 young boys during a five-year period.

He also confessed to drugging them and in some cases drinking their blood.

He reportedly returned to the home of his parents - who have disowned him - and was subsequently strangled by neighbours who found out he was there, an eyewitness told Kenya's Standard newspaper."

He was only 20 and confessed to killing at least 10 kids! And started killing when he was 16. Can't imagine what his childhood might have been like.

There just aren't any words really appropriate for how someone could do such a terrible thing.

Another nefarious nurse.

A Texas nurse has been found guilty of the murder of four patients who died after he injected them with air following heart surgeries.

William Davis, 37, was convicted of capital murder by a jury on Tuesday and could now face the death penalty. Prosecutors said he targeted seven people from June 2017 to January 2018.

Christus Mother Frances Hospital, where the attacks took place, said it hoped that the "jury's verdict helps bring some closure to those harmed".

The men, aged between 47 and 74, experienced "seizure-like symptoms" and died from fatal brain damage after the air was injected into their arterial lines. The court heard that the four men killed by Mr Davis had initially been recovering well from their operations and that doctors had been at a loss as to how their conditions had deteriorated so rapidly.

Authorities said it was only once doctors saw CT scans that showed air in the patients' brains that they realised something was amiss.

John Wayne Gacy murder victim named 45 years after vanishing

A man from North Carolina who vanished in the 1970s has been identified as one of dozens of victims murdered by serial killer John Wayne Gacy.

Francis Wayne Alexander's remains were among those found in the crawl space of Gacy's Chicago-area home in 1978.

Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart ordered eight unidentified victims' bodies to be exhumed in 2011 in an effort to identify them through DNA testing.

Alexander is the third Gacy victim to be identified in the last decade.

He would have been 21 or 22 when Gacy killed him between 1976 and 1977, Mr Dart's office said.

In reopening the investigation, Sheriff Dart asked families of youngsters who had vanished between 1970 and Gacy's 1978 arrest to submit saliva samples to compare DNA with the eight victims who were buried without being identified.

Months later, William George Bundy, a 19-year-old construction worker, was identified as a Gacy victim.

In 2017, James Byron Haakenson - a missing teenager from Minnesota - was named as another victim.

Police say their efforts to identify the other remains are ongoing.

I hadn't heard of this prolific serial killer before.

William Frederick Jahns, better known as Frank Romandorf, or the Maple Falls Monster, was a German-born serial killer who traveled the world, living in Rio de Janeiro, South Africa, Hong Kong, Australia, and Asia Minor before coming to the United States and settling in Maple Falls, Washington sometime during the winter of 1903 or 1904.

It wasn’t long before people started disappearing.

Fred Helms was the first. Hired by Frank in 1905, Fred had some land that Frank coveted, and it wasn’t long before he conveniently vanished. No one saw him after that, and it was years before friends and family learned his fate.

Next was Jack Green, who was hired by Frank and shortly after threatened legal action against his son, Ed Romandorf, claiming Ed pushed him against a saw. Green went as far as to tell the sheriff that he intended to press charges against Ed for attempted murder. He went to talk to Frank about the incident and was never seen again.

In the fall of 1906, Frank Romandorf and his neighbor James Logan disappeared during a severe storm. At first, area residents suspected they’d been killed during the storm, but when they searched Logan’s property and discovered his horse dead from a gunshot, they began to suspect foul play. Soon after, the postmaster received a letter, presumably from Logan, requesting that his mail be forwarded to Hoboken, New Jersey. Then James Logan allegedly sold his Maple Falls farm for five thousand dollars. The impression was that Logan was still alive and living elsewhere. ...

Frank eventually admitted to everything, adding that he had killed many more people in countries from Canada to Africa. South African authorities confirmed this when they identified Romandorf as the suspect who, years earlier, murdered eight men and stole eighty-five thousand dollars worth of diamonds. They knew him as William Jahns and had tracked him to New Orleans before losing the trail. ...

This is a sad ending for the person, but good that the unidentified bodies may be identified and returned to families.
