A man attending the funeral of his brother who died from a snakebite was killed after also being bitten by a snake.
Police told PTI that Govind Mishara, 22, traveled to Bhawanipur village in India on Wednesday for the last rites of his brother Arvind Mishra, 38, who had died from a snakebite earlier in the week.
Circle Officer Radha Raman Singh said Mishara was killed after being bitten by a snake in his sleep. Another relative in the family who attended the funeral, Chandrashekar Pandey, 22, was also bitten by a snake in the same house, according to police.
“Pandey was rushed to a hospital, where his condition remains critical,” Singh said.
