Croydon's not so far from me (New Cross), I may pop in for an investigate....
Regulars at the Sandrock pub have been seeing spirits of a supernatural kind.
There have been reported sightings of a ghostly figure wandering through the pub in Shirley.
Landlords Mick Herrod and Sonia Sugg have heard the stories since they took over the running of the pub last year but have yet to see the apparition.
They are now appealing for people who may know more about the pub's haunted guest to contact him.
Despite some people believing the ghost to be that of past landlady Audrey, the sightings confirm that the figure is in fact a preacher who may have delivered sermons from a nearby chapel.
The Sandrock, in Upper Shirley Road, acquired its name from a rock on which preachers used to conduct services in the early 19th century.
Sandrock regular Colin Jones confirmed there had been some spooky going on at the pub and said he knew of two sightings of the preacher.
He said: "Colette Riley was land- lady of the pub with her husband Gordon until 2000, and was known to be sensitive to the supernatural.
"She woke one night to the sight of a preacher at the end of her bed.
"A couple of years later I was telling the then landlord's son David Cross, about the pub being haunted and he told me that he had also seen a ghost in the form of a preacher."
Mick is trying to obtain information about the ghost and is asking people to contact him if they have had any unusual experiences at the pub. Call 020 8662 1931.
