A Pennsylvania farm's store operating on the honor system was raided for at least $1,000 worth of merchandise. The thieves were caught on surveillance footage. A person identifying herself as one of the thieves claimed it's all a misunderstanding, there's always been an intention to pay for the goods, she'd already submitted a fractional payment, and the goods were donated to a local church. Authorities must now attempt to determine what (if any) crime has been committed.
Hausman's theft: What really happened?

A family-run farm in southern Lehigh County says someone took advantage of its honor system store, but a woman says it's not what it looks like.

Hausman's Fruit Farm posted surveillance photos Wednesday night appearing to show three people in their store on Saturday night, between 10:45-10:55 p.m. ...

The popular Lower Milford Township farm said the people took at least $1,000 worth of items, and left without paying. ...

The family contacted police, who are taking over the investigation, then posted on Facebook.

A woman commented on the post, claiming to be the woman in the surveillance photos. She called 69 News, and said it's all a misunderstanding.

She said she left a note saying she would pay back the farm for the items, and that she intended to pay them back the whole time. She says the other two men seen in the surveillance video also intended to pay them back.

Hausman's tells 69 News they didn't find a note.

A public transaction on Venmo shows a woman by the same name sent $100 to Hausman's early Thursday morning, but the family says that is not close to covering what was taken. ...

The woman's social media comment also says she donated the goods to a church in Catasauqua.

Catasauqua Police Chief Douglas Kish tells 69 News that the woman did come to him and ask where she can donate food, and he recommended a local church, but he says he didn't know where the food items had come from.

Meanwhile, the pastor of the Catasauqua church says they did receive some baked good mixes and eggs.

So, what actually happened? ...

The aspect of this story that strikes me as the strangest is the matter-of-fact way the two teens who conspired to murder a relative (of one of them) immediately confessed their crime when first approached by the police. Are they that oblivious? Or that cold?
Teen girl hires teen hitman to kill relative, say police

Two Baton Rouge teens are under arrest in an alleged murder plot that left a woman dead Wednesday night.

East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Casey Hicks says deputies found the suspected shooter – a 16-year-old boy – not far from the scene of the crime, and says he cracked quickly under questioning.

“He told them that he was basically contacted by a 16-year-old relative of the victim, and asked to help her kill this woman,” Hick says.

The victim is identified as 33-year-old Markeshia Stone. She was shot multiple times and died in a nearby hospital. ...

Hicks says the teen boy told investigators he was asked to commit the crime by the girl, who is a friend of his.

"Detectives were able to locate the 16-year-old relative (of the victim)," said Hicks. "She also admitted that she did, in fact, solicit a friend of hers to kill her relative."

Hicks ... says both suspects are now in juvenile detention pending arraignment.

"She is charged with principle to second degree murder. The young man is charged with second degree murder as well a juvenile in possession of a firearm.”

The East Baton Rouge District Attorney may choose to upgrade the charges.

Florida clown murder trial postponed after discovery of ‘clown sighting file’

The trial of a Florida woman accused of dressing up as clown in 1990 and fatally shooting the wife of a man she later married has been postponed, following the disclosure of a law enforcement file containing information about other clown-sighting leads at the time.

Prosecutors informed defense attorneys for Sheila Keen Warren last Thursday that they had found a “clown sighting file” which defense attorneys had been demanding but prosecutors had been saying they didn’t have

Paris shocked by murder of Lola, 12, found in box.

Parisians have been stunned by the shocking murder of a 12-year-old schoolgirl whose body was found on Friday in a container in the courtyard of her apartment building.

The girl, named Lola, had spent the day normally at school.
Her father raised the alert when she failed to return home in the afternoon.
Later in the evening, a transparent plastic packing box containing her body was found at the foot of the building in the 19th arrondissement.

Lola's father is employed as a concierge in the residential block. Her body was found squashed inside the container, hidden by a covering of material.
Her hands and feet were tied and she was reported to have a gash on her neck, though the autopsy this weekend found she had died of asphyxiation. Two Post-it notes were also on her feet, one saying "0" and the other "1".
Early on Saturday, police arrested the main suspect in the killing - a 24-year-old Algerian-born woman named in the press as Dahbia B.

Cops find remains of four dismembered cyclists lying dead in river

Four cyclists mysteriously found dead in a river were on their way to commit a crime, according to police.

An urgent investigation was launched in the state of Oklahoma in the United States last week after the remains of the adult men were found in the body of water, with the last of the body parts not believed to be found until Monday morning.

Okmulgee Police Chief Joe Prentice said evidence suggested the men - identified as Mark Chastain, 32, brother Billy Chastain, 30, Mike Sparks, 32, and Alex Stevens, 29 - were travelling to commit a criminal act when they disappeared.
A witness reportedly told officers that they had been invited to join the group on a crime job that would have provided money "big enough" for all taking part.

The men had been cycling in a group from one of their properties when they were believed to have been accosted, with signs of a violent struggle found at a nearby scrapyard.

One of the group's mobile phones displayed its last active location at another scrapyard in the area. Both are owned by Joe Kennedy, a named person of interest in the case, though it is not thought he had any pre-existing relationship with the men.

Commenting on the progress of the investigation, Chief Prentice told reporters: “We believe the men planned to commit some kind of criminal act when they left the resident on West 6th Street.”

“That belief is based on information supplied by a witness who reports they were invited to go with the men to ‘hit a lick’ big enough for all of them”

The men's bodies had been found in the river without the cycles or any form of object weighing them down. The exact location of their deaths and the crime they may have been involved with have not yet been made public.

... It appears the main suspect had been ordered to leave the French territory three months ago, but the police did nothing to enforce the order (probably because they couldn't : in France, you cannot expel a foreign resident if his native country refuses to take him back, which is often the case right now). Sad story ...

Man, if I had a nickel for every stupid joke male-identifying people made about my chest... it really grinds your gears after a while. Also "but your face isn't very girly". Like, thanks, it's the family skull. Somehow women generally don't do that (not that women can't be jerks), I presume because they have to deal with the challenges to their legitimacy as people.

This Massachusetts woman was arrested and charged with assaulting sheriff's deputies, so I'm calling this a strange crime. If I understand correctly, she joined protesters attempting to stop deputies from enacting an eviction order. The strange bit is her choice of weapon to unleash on the cops - bees.
Woman charged, accused of freeing swarm of bees on deputies

A Massachusetts woman is facing multiple assault and battery charges for allegedly releasing a swarm of bees on a group of sheriff’s deputies, some of them allergic to bee stings, as they tried to serve an eviction notice ...

Rorie S. Woods, 55, pleaded not guilty at her arraignment on Oct. 12 in Springfield District Court and was released without bail ...

The Hampden County Sheriff’s Department deputies went to a home in Longmeadow on the morning of Oct. 12 and were met by protesters ...

Woods, who lives in Hadley, soon arrived in an SUV towing a trailer carrying bee hives, the report said. She started “shaking” the hives, broke the cover off one, causing hundreds of bees to swarm out and initially sting one deputy ...

Woods, who put on a beekeeper’s suit to protect herself, was eventually handcuffed but not before several more sheriff’s department employees were stung, including three who are allergic to bees, ...

When Woods was told that several officers were allergic to bees, she said “Oh, you’re allergic? Good” ...

Hampden County Sheriff Nick Cocchi said Woods could have faced more serious charges if anything worse had happened to those stung. ...

Escort murdered by builder left cryptic clues for police to follow, court hears

A woman murdered by a builder at a remote farm left a trail of clues for police to follow, a court has heard.

Alex Morgan, 34, who was working as an escort, was allegedly killed after meeting Mark Brown, 40, at the farm and her body torched in an oil drum.

But before she left him she left a note for her son on the living room table saying: “Let’s go rollerblading.”

Alongside his rollerblades, the box contained a trail of clues including a handwritten note, photos, a phone and an address where she may be found, Hove Crown Court heard.

Duncan Atkinson KC, prosecuting, said that days earlier the defendant had offered Miss Morgan an extremely well-paid job at the hotel where he worked but she had to keep quiet about it.

He said: “She clearly realised that it may not be above board, because she left that trail of clues for her sons, and the police, to find.”

A jury heard that using the clues she left, detectives were able to follow the victim’s movements.

Miss Morgan left a large sum of cash, a mobile phone, a handwritten note which said: “Photos evidence Brighton Premier Inn or Travel Lodge, security company on site”.

It also said “Check postcode TN34 5NY Rock Lane, opposite Bartletts”, the location where she later met Mr Brown.

There was a further note, which included the PIN for the phone and a reference to Brighton placed next to the TV screen.

Mr Brown has denied two charges of murder. The case continues.

The judge scent her down.

A woman who stole 38 bottles of perfume from a Belfast department store has been given a three-month prison sentence.

Salondra Sima, 19, claimed she intended to keep the fragrances worth more than £3,000 for herself and to give to friends. She also took hundreds of pounds worth of designer clothes from another shop. Sima, of Edinburgh Street in Belfast, admitted two thefts and a further count of criminal damage.

She was detained on 1 April in connection with an incident at House of Fraser in Victoria Square the previous week. Belfast Magistrates' Court heard 38 bottles of perfume with a total value of £3,003 had been stolen from the department store on 26 March and never recovered.

Sima, and a juvenile co-accused with her when she was stopped, were both searched. The younger girl had £735 worth of clothing stolen from the nearby Ted Baker store concealed in her dress.

Man dies after falling from moving van, girlfriend (34) arrested

A 31-year-old man from Breda died last night after he fell from a moving van around 10.30 pm. The man was found seriously injured on the Bredaseweg in Rijsbergen and later died in hospital.

The man's 34-year-old girlfriend was also in the vehicle. She was arrested because the police do not yet know what exactly happened and who was behind the wheel.

The police are still looking for witnesses and dashcam footage on which the white Mercedes Benz Citan can be seen.

The Citan is a 'car-derived' van, so only small. It would be difficult to fall from unless you were in the back and shoved out.

I guess she was evicted after all but now has alternative accomodation.

Sandra Kolalou, 36, was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder and concealing a homicide in the killing of Frances Walker, a 69-year-old woman who played piano at the Evanston School of Ballet, police said. Walker was killed Monday, Chief of Detectives Brendan Deenihan said. Walker had served Kolalou with an eviction notice "as recently as Saturday," Deenihan said at a news conference. Kolalou killed Walker, dismembered her, put her body in a freezer and tried to dispose of evidence at a Rogers Park beach, police said. Kolalou also pulled a knife on a tow truck driver she called to take her to the beach, authorities said. Kolalou was charged with aggravated assault for that incident, police said.
