The Woman With The Golden Gun.

A US woman has been arrested in Australia after a 24-carat gold-plated gun was found in her luggage.

The woman, who has not been identified, arrived in Sydney from Los Angeles and did not have a permit for the firearm, the Australian Border Force (ABF) said. She could face up to 10 years in jail.
Photos released by the ABF showed an airport scan of the woman's luggage, revealing the firearm inside her bag. A second photo showed the handgun after the bag was opened.

In a statement, an ABF official said that sophisticated detection technology had helped stop a dangerous weapon from entering the country.

"Time and time again, we have seen just how good ABF officers are at targeting and stopping illegal, and highly dangerous, goods from crossing Australia's border," ABF Commander Justin Bathurst said.

Officials said the 28-year-old woman was charged and appeared before the Downing Centre Local Court on Monday, where she received bail.
She could also face the cancellation of her visa and removal from Australia, pending the outcome of the court proceedings.

l’m dubious. While gold-plated 1911s are available, the picture is suspiciously just slightly out of focus. l suspect that a crisp image might reveal that all is not as it seems.

You’re quite correct, the magazine is one of the reasons that l’m dubious and not proper taking the proverbial.

Sarah Hartsfield, a 48-year-old former US Army sergeant, is accused of murdering her diabetic husband, Joseph Hartsfield, by shooting him up with high levels of insulin and then failing to call 911 until it was too late, according to multiple reports.

The 46-year-old’s insulin levels were extremely high about four to six hours before his wife dialed for help in the January incident, officials [said], adding that his glucose monitor had sounded an alarm long before she attempted to seek aid.

And while Hartsfield is locked up in Chambers County Jail, investigators in Minnesota have re-opened a probe into the death of her ex-fiancé David Bragg, who she shot and killed in 2018.

It’s unclear what new evidence Minnesota investigators received to reopen the case, but even that incident wasn’t her first brush with the law.

Hartsfield – then going as Sarah Dohonue – was arrested in March 1996 for allegedly assaulting her second husband, Michael Traxler, at their Rio Bonito home.

She remained in jail for a week but the charges were ultimately dropped.

After the driver opened the doors of the unrefrigerated cargo space, German police saw countless cardboard boxes containing a ton of fish, and roasted bats. The 31-year-old, who was not in possession of a driving licence or any ID, had set off from Belgium.

Police contacted the office of consumer protection, and the municipal veterinary service. A vet arrived at the location, a car park in the district of Brand, south east of Aken. The vet ordered the unrefrigerated food to be seized.

The federal police seized the van for being uninsured and untested. The driver turned out to be a national of Ivory Coast and to have hailed from Italy. He was detained for traffic offences and illegal immigration. The man will also be charged with a breach of food hygiene laws. He may also have broken laws relating to protected species. He is being held in custody pending extradition to Italy.

One wonders why the vet was called: they couldn't do much for the fish being transported in cardboard boxes and the roasted bats. Perhaps it was about identification.

Were the two taken separately & the car balanced precariously on top? More likely - whatever, a hoist & pickup truck needed to carry the barrel.

AA man has been indicted by a grand jury on charges of stealing a pair of ruby red slippers worn by Judy Garland in “The Wizard of Oz,” federal prosecutors in North Dakota say. The shoes were stolen in 2005 and recovered by a 2018 FBI sting operation, but no arrests were made at the time.

Terry Martin was indicted Tuesday with one count of theft of a major artwork, prosecutors announced Wednesday.

Garland wore several pairs of the ruby slippers during production of the 1939 musical, but only four authentic pairs remain. When they were stolen, the slippers were insured for $1 million but the current market value is about $3.5 million, federal prosecutors said in a news release.

The slippers were on loan to the Judy Garland Museum in the late actor’s hometown of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, when someone climbed through a window and broke the display case.

Cops: Woman Defecated On Church Altar​

An Ohio woman has been charged with desecration after she allegedly defecated on a church altar, police report.

According to a criminal complaint, Laura Miniard, 26, went into the chapel at Cincinnati’s Good Samaritan Hospital Saturday and “defecated on the altar.” Miniard allegedly used a “fabric runner on altar to wipe herself.”

Miniard, who lives in a Cincinnati suburb, then took a picture from the chapel and “smeared feces on table of altar.”

Miniard was arrested for desecrating a place of worship and booked into the county jail on the felony count. Court filings do not reveal a motive for the alleged desecration.
