Bought a large amount of extremely limited records from the Fruits De Mer / Mega Dodo mini festival in Putney yesterday, and just got tickets to their three day festival in Cardigan in August.

It's called "The 13th Dream Of Dr Sardonicus Festival Of Psychedelia". I may not return.

Bought a box of over 100 of those ornate metal and glass beads today at the car booty, for £2. Y'know, the sort people make those gaudy bracelets with.

Only wanted a few to put on my bootlaces but hey, wasn't turning them down at that price! :)

It has been a wee hobby of mine to rediscover the best way to starch an imperial collar. It's like tying a cravat, something that even sixty years ago would be widely known but now is largely lost. Of course you can send the collars off to one of the few (two when I last checked) that will launder and starch your collars but where's the fun in that?

When our Escet was at Oxford he saw all sorts of weird collar/tie combinations deployed, especially for the College Ball. He stuck to the tailcoat/white tie.
(I bought Escet the tailcoat at a car boot sale from a former RAF officer and told him, if you wreck it at the Ball, it's no big deal for £8!' He was DELIGHTED and still has it.)

I bet his posher colleagues had their butlers doing the starching! ;)

Two bottles of Sicilian Almond wine & a bottle of marsala. I plan to start having aperitifs every evening.

A new pair of Ray-Bans - last pair in the shop, on sale - they cost a third of the price of my previous pair, although these aren't polarised. I now look and feel as though I'm featuring in They Live.

wouldn't a mask have been more useful? I don;t think you have a functional equivalence with this purchase

Popped to t'Tesco garage on way home, picked up some beers for Techy and a tub of cut-price double cream for the cats.

Satisfaction all round!
Wish my missus bought me beers.

You need to drop the hint! ;)

I work shifts and pass the garage every night so on a late it's natural to think, oooh, I bet there's a beer offer on! :)
