Suggestions About Re-Organisation: Move & Merge Requests

There seems to be some overlap between these two threads; the mondo in the mundane mainstream news from China and the quotidian in Fortean Nations China thread.
https://forums.forteana.org/index.php?threads/news-from-china.29457/ from China
https://forums.forteana.org/index.php?threads/china.21540/

Done (or at least done as far as it's gonna be done at this time).

Postings have been re-sorted between the two threads, with some items spun off into relevant topical threads elsewhere.

The threads have been retitled to aid our oblivious rabble valued audience in figuring out where to post what.

I had a kind of Wait A ... moment when I realised that stuff I knew had posted wasn't there! two similar threads!

No (to a simple merger); Yes (major overhaul done).

The "Rediscovered" thread was re-titled to contain crypto-specific posts that didn't recommend themselves for transfer elsewhere.

The remainder were mostly transferred to one or another of 4 threads - 2 dedicated to MIA / presumed extinct species rediscovered (one for animals; one for plants) and 2 dedicated to new discoveries (one each for animals and plants).

The Book Recommendations thread, launched by DrPaulLee is maybe too general a title for what was originally a question about a specific subject.

I think there may be a bit of confusion already, and I foresee duplication - it might be worth someone adjusting the title to reflect the original query a bit more accurately.

Done. Title changed to:

Book Recommendations: The Occult / Occultism

Rather than starting a new thread can we add "or listen" to the thread "Suggestions for a good read"?

Audiobooks can be destroyed by a poor narrator. It's a minor point but it's massive. I didn't want to start a new thread.

We already have a 'What are you listening to?' Thread.
I've been using that to post about audiobooks.

Is the 'Good Read' thread focused on books? If so, it makes more sense to me to combine the reading and listening modalities under the type of work - e.g.:

Suggestions For A Good Book (Print Or Audio)

... rather than presentation modality (print versus audio).

On the other hand ... Prioritizing the type of work would imply there'd have to be separate threads for recommendations relating to other categories of works (e.g., music; podcasts in the context of audio).

We now have an Accents thread - and an older The Wide World Of (English Language) Accents thread.

Ramon's inaugural post in the former is clearly about non-English accents - and there's obviously a place for such a discussion - but the majority of posts on that newer thread are already about English accents and it is therefore effectively duplicating an already extant one.

Might be idea to merge into one general thread - or separate, while it is still manageable, and re-title the newer to cover non-English accents.

After a major survey and consolidation exercise, lunar exploration content (including a number of threads above and beyond the two cited above) has now been collated and re-shelved in the current New Science section as follows:

Moon Exploration: Unmanned Missions

Moon Exploration: Manned Missions & Moon Bases
