The Child Eater

I don't think the 'real' / 'unreal' dichotomy has much bearing here. Dreams involve some elements of the familiar, either explicitly or implicitly perceived.

These familiar things are augmented with unfamiliar features and accompanied by still more elements which may be purely fictional (relative to waking life or personal experience).

B K's claim of always dreaming only of unreal things clashes with the fact the unrecognized shack was located in a specific 'real' plot on his 'real' childhood home's property.

It also clashes with B K's example of dreaming about his work, but in a different building. The building may be completely fictional, but he(?) recognizes the general setting of his actual work.
