The Gilbert Deya Ministries & 'Miracle Babies'

Gilbert Deya obviously took "Fools and Horses" as Gospel! :p

Remember the Peckham Spring Water affair? :D

Or the mass production of pre-blessed communion wine!

At least he wasn't a total cheapo, didn't use corn oil.

A self-proclaimed "Archbishop" is selling olive oil from Aldi as a miracle cure for cancer and HIV, it has been claimed.

Gilbert Deya, 63, a Kenyan preacher who calls himself the Archbishop of Peckham, is selling the £1.99 750ml budget supermarket product in his church shop in south London for £5, according to The Sun.

He claims to have "anointed" the oil and suggests that if used on food, it can make cancer "disappear"

Deya, who runs Gilbert Deya Ministries- which is said to have a UK membership of 36,000 - also claims that he can give infertile couples "miracle babies".

Darwin was right.

Deya again, he has been extradited to Kenya to be tried for child trafficking charges. His wife has already been convicted of baby stealing.

NAIROBI, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Britain has extradited controversial preacher Gilbert Deya to Kenya to face child trafficking charges, the British embassy said on Friday.

A statement from the British embassy in Nairobi said the 65-year old televangelist arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 4.40 a.m. Friday aboard a Kenya Airways flight.

"Controversial Gilbert Juma Deya arrived back in Kenya this morning following ten years of appeal in the UK courts against his extradition," the embassy said.

"The Briton and Kenyan authorities worked closely together on Deya's extradition. He is wanted in Kenya for child abduction and trafficking charges," said the embassy.

Deya was an evangelist in Kenya in the late 1980s to early 1990s, but moved to the UK, establishing Gilbert Deya Ministries in 1997.

The preacher who runs an evangelical church in Peckham, southeast London has been on the list of most wanted persons for human trafficking since 2004 ...

I think this fits here given Deya's antics.

More than 160 children have been rescued from a "baby factory" and two unregistered orphanages in Nigeria's main city, Lagos, an official has said.

Some of the babies and children had been sexually abused, Agboola Dabiri added.

It is not uncommon for Nigerian authorities to raid "baby factories".

In some cases, unmarried pregnant women are promised healthcare, only for their children to be taken away. In others, women are raped and made pregnant.

The babies can be sold for adoption, used for child labour, trafficked to Europe for prostitution or killed for ritual purposes.

More baby factories in Nigeria.

Nigerian police have freed 19 pregnant women from properties in Lagos, which they describe as "baby factories".

Most of the women had been abducted "for the purpose of getting them pregnant and selling the babies", a police statement said. Two women who operated as untrained nurses have been arrested but the main suspect is on the run. Police said that male babies would be sold for $1,400 (£1,100) and the females for $830. They added that the children were to be trafficked, but it was not clear who or where the potential buyers were.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Another Baby factory.

At least 35 teenagers have been rescued from a so-called ‘’baby factory’’ in Nigeria.

Essentially these are places where women and girls are kept to give birth to babies for sale.

The authorities said four of the girls in the building in the south-eastern state of Anambra were already pregnant. Police spokesperson Torchukwu Ikenga told the BBC three suspects had been arrested - accused of abducting the teenagers as well as engaging them in sexual slavery, prostitution and operating a baby factory.

The police recovered three guns during the raid on the building in the town of Nkpor, near the commercial city of Onitsha.

These facilities are usually operated by human trafficking gangs – some in buildings disguised as maternity clinics or hotels.

Despite frequent efforts by the authorities over the years to shut them down – they continue to operate, mostly in secret.

Acquitted due to insufficient evidence.

A controversial Kenyan televangelist, who claimed he created miraculous pregnancies, has been acquitted of child-trafficking charges due to insufficient evidence.

The prosecution failed to prove that Gilbert Deya stole five children two decades ago, a Kenyan magistrate said. He had been accused of handing them to women struggling to become pregnant. The self-styled pastor was extradited from the UK in 2017, after his decade-long legal battle to remain failed.

Concerns were first raised about the conduct of Mr Deya, who ran a church in London, in a BBC investigation in 2004. Women experiencing difficulties conceiving who attended the Gilbert Deya Ministries church in Peckham, south-east London, were told they could have "miracle" babies.

But the babies were always "delivered" in backstreet clinics in Kenya's capital, Nairobi. The prosecution said the babies were stolen from poor Kenyan families.

Mr Deya later moved to Scotland, and was arrested in Edinburgh in 2006 under an international arrest warrant issued by Kenya.

In his ruling on Monday, magistrate Robison Ondieki said the prosecution had "failed to establish circumstantial evidence". ...

In 2011, Mary Deya, Mr Deya's then wife, was jailed after being found guilty of stealing a baby from the main referral hospital in Kenya's capital Nairobi and falsely stating she had given birth to the baby.
