Apparently from a Fortean Society brochure:

"These members embrace the only "doctrine" Forteanism has, that of suspended judgement, temporary acceptance, and eternal questioning."

OK, I'll suspend judgement, accept this doctrine temporarily, and ask 'Why not?'. :)

The Only Fortean Doctrine

I'd rather the only Fortean doctrine be:

''Believe in nothing, for fear that that thing may be correct''

Justin's quote is fine by me.

The Transient Nature of All Apparent Doctrines

A doctrine is a dogma in print. Fort would have been against that. I think, 'One measures a circle beginning anywhere' is good enough.

But in a world of a transient nature, then Justin may be 'right' today, but I may be equally 'right' tomorrow.

I suppose it depends on which side of the conceptual bed you wake up on.

Right?
