U.S. Military: UFO Investigations, Knowledge & Disclosure

As Mick West has pointed out, everything in these three clips can be explained by mundane phenomena, so they don't really add much to the debate. I was interested to see if the original clips added any extra data to the discussion, but they don't.
So I am still waiting for good evidence of alien visitation.

The fuss, as I understand it, is that the source of the material is the US military and that it's authenticity as such has been acknowledged by the US Government.. which is, apparently , highly unusual. ...

The USN has never outright denied the authenticity of the imagery nor the reports of UAP sightings during the given exercises / operations.

The primary fuss has concerned the fact the video imagery was leaked into public dissemination while still subject to distribution restrictions. Depending on the level of classification applied this leaking could entail significant legal ramifications, up to and including imprisonment.

Posting from one of the pandemic "hotspots" in the USA (from a "hotspot" municipality inside a "hotspot" state [NJ]):

While UFO's aren't the Fortean topic I have much interest in, here is a recent article I happened to come across that some at this forum might find interesting:
Pentagon releases strange footage of UFOs — and an ex-Senate leader says ‘it only scratches the surface’

As far as I can tell, none of those reports are directly associated with the GOFAST and GIMBAL tapes, which were filmed in the same time period. That suggests there should be at least two more reports out there, unless GOFAST and GIMBAL were never reported. I suspect that
a/ these things happen more times than they are reported and
b/ they are entirely mundane.

Several of these reports actually state that they are sightings of unidentified weather balloons.
During a day event ... a red weather balloon was spotted...several ships were operating in the area... analysis; an unknown agency released a weather balloon without notifying the appropriate channels.
Balloons and other near-stationary airborne objects like large birds are very problematic for the detection systems of fast moving aircraft. The parallax effect can make these low-moving objects appear to be moving fast, as in the GOFAST movie. I'd guess that most of them are explainable by unidentified balloons released by various parties, although some (like GIMBAL and FLIR1) are explainable by distant aircraft.

Two separate reports in that batch describe red weather balloons; this seems to be a solid identification, since many US Navy weather balloons are red.

But who set off weather balloons in a restricted area? Perhaps it was the unidentified Navy ship in report #2
"surface traffic was light with only a single stationary commercial fishing trawler and a single unidentified US Naval vessel traveling south" during the incident, but that "the identity of the Naval vessel in the vicinity was undetermined."
If they don't even know which ships were in the area, how could they possibly hope to keep track of balloons?

I think you might be right about that --I thought the same thing when I read it --stray balloon. They are going to have to release better stuff than this!

In the GOFAST clip the object does seem to be travelling fast, but this is a parallax effect. This object is halfway between the plane and the sea, so it seems to be moving rapidly while it is the sea moving in the background because of the movement of the plane.
Although the GOFAST clip is not mentioned in the recent release of sightings from the East Coast, several of the sightings described there do involve stationary or near-stationary objects, several of which are balloon-sized.

Dam those Stray Balloons travel fast over the sea.
It's not surprising but rather cynical on behalf of folks who would obfuscate or play down the phenomenon over the decades to attribute sightings to "weather balloons". To be sure many weather balloons and Venus, etc. etc. have been mistaken for UFOs over the years (There is actually an account which I will dig up again and post where a group of people are gathered watching an "airship"; Lovecraft himself strides over and tells them they are looking at Venus!), but a class of smaller UFOs actually DO look like silver balloons, small and round or small discs and larger round and disc-shaped objects too. Looking throught the accounts there are many UFO encounters that involve small silver balls. And they glow at times --can be red or very bright. They fly in formation sometimes too. The small objects can be sent off from the larger objects, as has been noted before in Russia and elsewhere throughout history. I LOVE the accounts of Skyhook technicians talking about approaches of UFOs to balloons! Even adhering to instrument pod before flying off in formation.

It might be a bit before we get some good videos out of the government; they are even blocking access to the new UFO / UAP reporting guidelines. It might not, too. Something else surprising is bound to happen. And I imagine it will take us further to where things are already going.

The UFOs that approached an Skyhook, perched, then took off in formation must have been very small. Hmm; what could that have been? A flock of birds in the Low Information Zone?

I've been following Eric Davis for a while now, and his oppo Hal Puthoff. Davis' was the author of a paper on wormholes, and I read it along with many other papers by Matt Visser, Kip Thorne, Mike Morris, Tom Roman, Serguei Krasnikov and Adam Getchell. I'm sorry to say that Davis' paper was the worst of the bunch, including much more speculation, wishful thinking and non-sequiturs. If you want to know more about speculative propulsion, I recommend avoiding Davis' work.

I've not read it, and I know those folks aren't considered mainstream scientists by he academic community. I think speculation is what they were hired on for --like Pais, as the object are beyond our understanding. The program still continues, and with more scientists than those folks. It's very possible other countries are looking into it too, for obvious reasons.

I really doubt that all of this over the decades and now is going to get stuffed back into the bottle; the arrow of time is not going to reverse on it . Pretty clear to see where things are heading --I think. Also the COMETA report :
http://www.self.gutenberg.org/eBook...t-of-Our-Knowle-by-Norlain-Bernard-Gen-.aspx?
and the Estimate of the Situation, show that even more mainstream scientists can agree that UFOs are likely real, RAND too, and the Pentagon, to boot. I'm sure the MOD too.

So folks can see more about Davis:

I'm not sure what you mean, tbh; Kip Thorne worked on the movies Contact and Interstellar, and was awarded the Nobel Prize in 2017. If you want to know about wormholes, he's the man to go to.

I'm sorry, that wasn't clear --I meant Davis and other scientists who concern themselves with an interest in UFOs.

What does Trump really know ...

US President Donald Trump said he has heard “interesting” things about Roswell, the crash site of an alleged UFO.

Mr Trump made the comments in an interview with his son, who asked if the White House incumbent could “let us know what’s really going on”.

“I won’t talk to you about what I know about it, but it’s very interesting,” he replied.

The Father’s Day-themed interview was hosted by the president’s reelection campaign.

I've heard interesting things about Roswell. This does not make them true though. <shrug>

Well....knowing the way Mr Trump exaggerates, embellishes, and downright lies ...why would anyone take any comment from him to be meaningful...on any topic?

George W Bush's daughters asked him what he knew about UFOs and he refused to tell them because it was classified information..

Exactly right. On the face of it it just seems like more of what Trump does (trying not to get political here), and ridiculous, but I think there is something more worrisome below the surface. Here is the interview with Kimmel:

You'll notice W is very serious --he isn't allowed to even tell close family members about UFO secrets, because many preseidents have a need to know and are exposed to those high level secrets:

https://santitafarella.wordpress.co...-and-physicist-robert-sarbachers-1983-letter/

Trump has been briefed on the recent UFO activity the military has been dealing with as have members of Congress:
https://silvarecord.com/2020/06/22/uap-task-force-included-in-intelligence-bill-for-2021/

What we have here, I'm afraid is a veiled threat by Trump to the US military --which has recently basically been suggesting they will physically remove him from power if necessary, after the election. The staged interview was based on the W / Kimmel interview template on purpose...
EXCEPT, it is made clear that Trump Jr. has probably been told inappropriately (security violations are not new), and the president is reminding certain folks that he knows too.. And could come out with it. It would be unprecedented AGAIN, ya know? The military doesn't want that to happen. Amazing. Remember Trump said a lot of people "would like to see IT". I am sure a lot of folks in the know cringed when he said that...
