The Legendary Tale of The Bhawal Sannyasi
(The Daily Star, Bangladesh)

A fascinating story from what was then British India – a prince from an aristocratic family in what is now Bangladesh died in 1909 at the age of 25, after living a rock and roll lifestyle. Ten years later, a sanyasi (religious beggar) showed up in town covered in ashes and claiming to be the prince. Court cases dragged on until 1946. There are a lot of twists and turns – a post-mortem appeared to support the authenticity of his claim.

Points of similarity -
- Feet Scaly, size 6 for shoes
- Syphilitic ulcers
- Boil mark on the head and back
- Operation mark near the groin
- Tiger claw mark on the right arm
- A minute mole on the dorsum of the penis

How very thorough. If the Pretender was a fake he was a good'un.
