The Strid (AKA Bolton Strid: River Wharfe, Yorkshire)

A reference in a book has the depth of the Strid at the main waterfall calculated at 30ft, which is deep, but not as deep as some of the absurd figures on the internet (most of these sites just scrape content from each other).

It was apparently surveyed by divers from Leeds University in the 1980s, so has certainly been 'explored'.

There's also a Ghaistrill Strid in the Dales!

Well, to my delight a relation has a new missis who is from the Strid area and knows it well. She has kindly volunteered to share her local knowledge on a day trip along there. :)
Never mind your Little Morton Halls, this should be our Fortean outing.
