Part of the Troll's heady allure is its mysterious miasma and its well-travelled clientele are responsible for the introduction of a number of exotic fevers, agues, poxes and collics.
That is a fair point. Who knows what blights accompany vagabond wastrels.

Never go too near a dwarf, myself.

This acknowledged, may I temp one with a Friday afternoon aperitif?

Perhaps...

Alternatively, we seem to have a modernistic incarnation...

At 140 proof, this could be a spicy little fellow...

A 'Friday afternoon aperitif' that takes out the entire weekend.

Evenin' all...

In the mood for something I haven't had in years - Jack Daniels with soda, please.

Kids and technology, eh...

Recently bought wee 8-y-o granddaughter an 8" Amazon tablet.

Best buy ever - absolutely loves it.

On her tablet earlier tonight and one enquired what she liked using it for.

Apparently, trending right now is sharing singing/dancing videos with school mates and other pals on TikTok, watching makeup tutorials on YouTube, sending e-mails and video chatting via Instant Messenger.

The rhetorical question, 'So, you know how to do all that?', was met with a look of considerable disdain.

'nother JD and soda, please.

Good fiends... I mean friends...

Had a profoundly traumatic past couple of weeks and ongoing.

My daughter-in-law pased away on Saturday...

Pretty sure I had mentioned having received some dire news.

That would be the Doctor informing Nicola, she had only a few weeks, at best, to live.

Just been surreal.

However, Nicola had been so ill, for so long... massively comforting to all, she's suffering no longer.

Aforesaid duly acknowledged, could fair go a wee nightcap. :badge:

A copious single malt of your choosing, good barkeeper...

Jukebox... been a long time ... go on then, your appropriate shout...

Might be here for a while... :)

Comfortably Numb, my condolences to you and your family on your daughter-in-law's passing. That's very sad news.

My condolences, CN. That's hard truckin', mate. Will join you at the cyberbar for a few days while you begin to come to terms. Do you have people with you out in the world? People to lean on? We're here for what it's worth, but you might need someone to physically hang on to too, y'know?

Been off the sauce for a few weeks since the prang. Was planning to head out for a night of Guinness and Blues at the Irish Club tonight but may be experiencing a bout of diverticulitis. If I stay in, I'll be round the off-license for some Bombay Sapphire and lemons.

Sincerely appreciate the hug. :)

My dilemma at present, is should my 8-Y-O granddaughter - offspring of Nicola and my son - attend her mum's funeral.

Daughter and myself are adamant this will be exceedingly traumatic for her, rest of the family think otherwise...

If anyone has experience of similar situation, any advice certainly most welcome.

Meantime... the hell... next round is on me!

Jukie... something in the mood... subtle like...

Oh, it's worth a fair bit, trust me.

All fine as possible, thanks for..

...basically, giving a shit. :p

Whilst I am fortunately pragmatic about the circumstances, it has unearthered some thought-provoking...

....primarily, at the moment, the point of having a funeral service at all...

Seem to be requiring a refill boss, will catch you later.

Jukie... you know the one I have in mind here. Apparently a rare and unreleased recording, wondered if anyone else would really like this...
