Best of luck Shady. I was caught early 17 years ago and although I was a bit miffed at being gutted am glad to be still here.
If you find the wound is still weeping when you go home, I found using sanitary pads taped on did the job very well.
When I went back to the specialist for the 1st check up he remarked how well the visiting nurse he had ordered had looked after me.
I told him that noone had visited at all.

Got the result today, it is cancer of the womb, but we are hoping once all my insides have been scooped out that it will go, the cyst, well they have no idea what the heck it is, until it is removed, i hope it is something very fortean :D

PS: worry that peeps might think i am doing this for sympathy, I asure you I wouldn't do that, it is that i consider peeps on here as near to family as possible without meeting you, and i didnt want to disappear without you knowing why, I will be in good hands of a damn good hospital, Nottingham City, when it is all over, not sure when the op is, i will hopefully be back to buy everyone a drink in the trolls head XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
I'm very sorry about the diagnosis, Shady. I'm sending prayers and positive thoughts your way. I look forward to that drink in the Troll's Head when you return.

It's good that it's so early in the day- less time to sit worrying. Hopefully although a bit sore you will feel feel much better after.

Dont be, i am trying to stay positive, that is the best way to own this sucker, hopefully :p
Best of luck Shady and staying positive will prove to be your best medicine. Mrs T63 was diagnosed with Breast Cancer a couple of years ago, took it on the chin as if it was a minor issue, worked throughout except for a fortnight directly after surgery, walked across London Bridge and back for radiotherapy at lunchtime each day for something like 18 days and her specialist could not believe her very quick recovery time. He said it was her self belief and her overall positivity.

And he's a ginger! That's a plus! :)
Oh, indeed. He can get feisty, though - he'll come for a fuss, but then start biting. We have begun referring to him as an OBT:
wikipedia said:
Among those who keep tarantulas as pets Pterinochilus murinus is known as "OBT," which means "orange baboon tarantula" or "orange bitey thing" and also as the "pterror," a pun on its Latin genus classification: Pterinochilus. These nicknames reference a particular orange colour form that is prized in the hobby for its beauty and confrontational personality.

'Orange bitey thing!' That's brilliant! I'll have to monitor my level of alcohol consumption when I'm in the Troll's Head or I might find that label applied to myself.

I spent most of my working life working Xmas , new yrs and Thanksgiving. One horrendous Xmas week i had 2 performances Xmas Eve, 2 Xmas day, 2 new years eve and 2 new yrs day and the play had received awful reviews and very few people showed up. I practically had to get one of the performers out of bed at gunpoint to get him to the theatre. Idiotic scheduling. On the other hand, most of the relatives were musicians and even if there was a gathering, they ate fast and left. Nowadays I sometimes volunteer on Xmas day, not used to having it off.

Well, that sounds fun...not. I work every Christmas, and you know what, the ones who complain when you try, and i mean try, to get it off, are the ones that get it off everytime.
What is this 'Christmas' you speak off ?
It is all in honour of a guy you have never met, and to celebrate his birthday, in this case a day he was probably never born on, you buy lots of stodgy food and booze then, you fight with each member of your family, probably with the ones you only meet with on this day, then pass out in front of the telly watching some cheesy films cause your belly is so bloated it looks like it is ready to explode and make Mount Etna look tame

It's two weeks of an entire year people dash madly about trying to catch up with ALL family and friends and attend every gathering you have been invited to. And, you eat so much that as Shady says, "your belly is so bloated it looks like it is ready to explode and make Mount Etna look tame[".

Every year, I try to talk my mom in having a gathering in June, not December. Spread the craziness out and have a relaxing get together. Haven't been able to convince her yet.

This will be about the first year in 13 that my regular day off falls right on the holiday.

So, describe what happens? What fussing are you giving him? Does he always attack hands? (sorry not in cat thread but indulge us for a bit :Hobbes: )
