The World's Dumbest Criminals

At least he cared enough about his dog, in case Bob got lost. Bob should receive an award for giving the police info that helped solve the crime. Perhaps supply of biccies for a year. Good doggie:bthumbup:

A baad move,

A gang who stole firearms from a gun shop were caught when one used his mobile phone to order a takeaway from the scene.

The four men have been jailed for their part in the raid at Hardy's Gunsmiths in Sheffield, on 3 April 2020. Police said they were charged after a "meticulous" two-year investigation. Andrew Cross, Andrew Coy and Shabaz Ismail, all from Sheffield and Musfer Jabbar, of no fixed address, were sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court.

South Yorkshire Police said CCTV from the area showed Jabbar making a phone call, placing an order with a local takeaway for two lamb burger meals.

"This crucially placed them at the scene of the burglary," a force spokesman said.

Police dressed as Santa and his elves break down door with hammer in Peru drug bust

A gang of drug dealers in Peru got a nasty surprise when Father Christmas and his elves broke down their door to cuff them and shut down the criminal operation.

Police dressed as Santa and his little helpers hammered down the door to cuff the gang who won't be making it on to the nice list this year.

The agents were disguised in festive costumes with one officer dressed as the ruddy, white-bearded figure from the North Pole along with several of his little helpers.

Police official David Villanueva told Peruvian TV: 'It being Christmas, a Santa in the street does not attract much attention, and we used this to our advantage for this operation.'

The group ambled innocently down a street until suddenly they stopped at a house.

In a scene more akin to a comedy skit than a police raid, one of Santa's helpers brought out an enormous hammer, broke down the front door and the group forced their way inside.

Instead of greeting the occupants with a jolly cheer, agents screamed at them to freeze and lay down on the floor.

The suspects, three men and a woman, initially thought it was a joke.

The agents seized 6,000 small packets of cocaine paste, 104 of cocaine powder and 279 of marijuana, said police.

As much as I dislike this man, I can't help thinking that this is a case of 'swatting'. Just a way of making his life difficult.
The charges will be dropped when no evidence is found, perhaps.

As much as I dislike this man, I can't help thinking that this is a case of 'swatting'. Just a way of making his life difficult.

This doesn't seem to be swatting though, the police investigation was going on for some time before the twitter exchange. Six women have lodged complaints with the police regarding his activities.

As much as I dislike this man, I can't help thinking that this is a case of 'swatting'. Just a way of making his life difficult.
The charges will be dropped when no evidence is found, perhaps.

Here's what makes it look like more than swatting:

Prosecutors said the brothers are suspects in an alleged organized crime ring that sexually exploited at least six women, who were recruited, housed and forced into performing pornographic videos for sale online.

They said in their warrant: 'With regard to the crime of rape, it was noted that, in March 2022, an injured person was forced, on two different occasions, by a suspect through the exercise of physical violence and psychological pressure to have sexual relations.'

In a press release on Thursday, DIICOT – Romania's police, crime, and investigation unit – said that they had raided five homes after obtaining search warrants.

The raids were executed as part of an ongoing investigation into an organized criminal group, international human trafficking, and rape.

The police statement did not name the suspects at the center of the probe, but said they included two British citizens and two Romanian citizens.

Andrew and Tristan Tate are both dual-citizens of the US and UK. The brothers were born to an American father and British mother, and grew up partially in both countries.

Police say a total of six victims have so far come forward claiming they were sexually exploited by the organized criminal group.

There have been previous raids on Tate's home regarding the allegations:

Tate's home in the Eastern European nation was also raided on April 11 this year as part of a human trafficking investigation.

Following that raid, which was reportedly prompted by a complaint from a US citizen to the American Embassy in Bucharest, the Tate brothers were detained for several hours for questioning but ultimately released as the investigation continued.

He does incriminate himself with his big mouth:

Tate has previously boasted to his followers that '40 per cent' of the reason he moved to Romania was because the police were less likely to pursue any sexual assault allegations against him.

Tate is now being held for 30 days.

The controversial British-American influencer Andrew Tate will be held in detention in Romania for 30 days, after a court agreed to a police request.

Tate was arrested alongside his brother Tristan on Thursday as part of an investigation into allegations of human trafficking and rape, which they deny. Authorities suspect the pair, along with two Romanian men, of running "an organised crime group". Tristan, and two others, were also detained by the court in Bucharest.

Outside the court, the Tates' lawyer, Eugen Vidineac, said they would appeal against the detention.

"We are not at a stage where guilt or innocence is proven, for now we only discuss preventive measures," he added. Mr Vidineac told the BBC his clients reject all the allegations.

Andrew Tate, 36, has yet to comment directly on the accusations. But after being detained, a tweet was sent from his Twitter account alluding to the 1999 movie The Matrix.

"The Matrix sent their agents," the post said. The account also retweeted Matrix memes posted by Twitter owner Elon Musk.

During the detention hearing, the two brothers maintained their right to silence, their lawyer told the BBC. Earlier, a police spokesperson told the BBC that the 36-year-old would be held at a "detention centre". ...

Burglars called 911 to get help moving stuff, says Florida sheriff

Officers responded to a home on Saturday after a 911 call was made but nobody spoke, the Polk County Sheriff's Office said.

At the home, they concluded that nobody lived there, but they found a male suspect and his girlfriend inside the home after entering it through an unlocked door.

The police had been searching for the male suspect after identifying him from security video as a burglar at a Dollar General store in Poinciana, Florida, where several items were stolen earlier in the day.

While talking to deputies, the female suspect told them that she had called 911 for the purpose of having law enforcement help them move their belongings from the house they were burgling.

They also wanted to get a ride to the airport so they could spend the weekend in New York, the sheriff's office said.

“Deputies DID help them with their belongings, and DID give them a ride, but it wasn’t to the airport… it was to the Polk Pokey," the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post.

Update. Cars seized, further properties searched, and some conflicting evidence.

Romanian police are expanding their investigation into former kickboxing champion Andrew Tate, seizing a fleet of luxury cars from his Bucharest compound over the weekend, and raiding seven more properties - including a newly renovated villa beneath the Carpathian Mountains.

The sight of Mr Tate's shiny dove-grey Porsche perched delicately on the battered frame of a police tow truck neatly captured his shift in fortunes as, through the high black gates of his compound, a slow procession of trucks carried his prized collection of luxury cars to join him in police custody.

At the side of the road, a single fan stood watching. "I consider myself a fan," Emmanuel told me. "Every boy likes his lifestyle. I don't like what I'm hearing about him, but we'll see if it's true. I'll change my attitude if I see proof."

Some here see the confiscation of the cars as a sign that the Romanian authorities are preparing for the next stage in this case, securing assets as collateral against potential compensation claims from victims, in the event that Andrew Tate or his brother Tristan are charged with people trafficking.

Raids on seven more properties last week are widely seen as a sign that investigators are expanding their search for evidence in the case. ...

Police want to know whether he lured women to Romania with promises of a serious relationship or marriage, before forcing or manipulating them into working for him as models in adult entertainment chat rooms.

They are also looking into rape allegations made by one of the witnesses.

Investigators have confirmed that six women have been identified as potential victims. But last week, two of the women in the investigation publicly denied any mistreatment by the Tate brothers.

The women - who have tattoos reading "Property of Tate" and "Tate Girl" - worked in the compound in Bucharest, where Andrew Tate lived with his brother and the models who staffed his adult web-cam business.

Speaking to Romania's Antena 1 TV channel, one of the women - identified as Beatrice - said she had been "good friends" with the Tate brothers for two years and had "Tate Girl" tattooed on her arm "out of respect for them".

Describing the moment police first entered the compound in December, Beatrice said 20 police officers charged in and went upstairs to a bedroom where, she says, two other women had locked themselves inside the room in fear of the raid.

BBC News has spoken to others who have different memories of the raid.

There is little clarity about what evidence investigators have gathered so far. And among the Tates' former associates, claims, counter-claims and conspiracy theories exist side-by-side.

No charges have yet been brought, but Mihaela Dragus, spokeswoman for Romania's National Anti-Trafficking Agency, says the case is already sending a strong message to both traffickers and victims.

"The fact that the justice system has decided to keep the brothers in custody, even during the preliminary phase of the [case], sends a very important message," she says.

In one of his social media videos, Andrew Tate explains why he moved to Romania in 2017.

"One of [my reasons] is the #MeToo era," he says. "People say: 'Oh you are a rapist'. No, I am not a rapist, but I like the idea of being able to do what I want, I like being free. If she goes to the [Romanian] police and says: 'He raped me yesterday', they'll say ok, do you have evidence? Is there CCTV proof?"

Last year, Romania made enough progress for the US Trafficking In Persons report to take it off their watchlist.
But the report also repeated concerns about Romanian officials themselves being involved in people trafficking.

Again Tate incriminates himself, he really has a big mouth.

Andrew Tate said that women are "not allowed out" when they stay at his house, speaking in an old video clip that was recently republished.

In the clip, highlighted by The Sun on January 7, Tate talked about his jet-setting lifestyle, and how he has large groups of women staying at his home.

The date of the clip was unclear, as was the specific house he meant. Insider found the same footage posted around the same time Tate was banned from YouTube, suggesting the comments are at least 6 months old.

"I'm all over the place, so I end up with all these chicks just stuck in the house, sitting there, bored, completely in love with me," he said. "And of course they don't go out. They're not allowed out."

Tate also boasted about his treatment of women on his now-defunct website, screenshots of which have been widely shared. Tate wrote that 50% of his employees were his girlfriend at one time and "none were in the adult entertainment industry before they met me."

His description resembles the "loverboy method" of human trafficking, which Romanian authorities allege Tate employed in the country.

How Tate operated.

Daria Gusa was 16 and still at school, when she says she received a private message on Instagram from Andrew Tate, a high-profile influencer almost 20 years older than her.

"It just read 'Romanian girl' and he put some flirty emoji," Daria told me. "I was confused because I [only] had 200 followers, and it was a private account."

She is one of two teenagers who have described to the BBC how Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan approached them online, apparently using a standard formula.

"It was obvious we were high-school girls," Daria said. "We had our high school in our bio and everything. I think he was just trying to find girls who were as innocent or naïve as possible, in my opinion."

She showed us a screenshot of the message, which she never replied to. But she says some of her friends did. ...

Daria, who's now at university in the UK, is the daughter of a prominent Romanian politician and feels able to speak out publicly when others have refused to go on the record. ...

Despite it being so serious I had to laugh when a father and son in Preston were filmed digging up a stashed powerful rifle and scope in their back garden and handing it to some other crims who arrived in a van to collect it. Who filmed it all? The cctv equipment installed on their own property. Stupidity personified.

It's worrying though that guns are being buried around the place.

Reminds me that someone I knew (now dead) lived in a house with fields at the back, and was known to bury 'hot' items outside his back garden.
His widow (also now deceased, and good riddance to both) told me that there were certainly guns down there.
She reckoned he left them there when he moved out. Wonder if a metal detector would find them?

Yup.
They're unlikely to be polymer.
You mean the guns?
If they are still there they'll be all rusted up by now, no good for shooting.
They might be of interest, though, should anyone find them.
That won't be me, I've stayed out of it so far!

If they were well wrapped and oiled they might be of use.
I'm glad to say I know nothing of such matters. :)

Apart from what I've seen in action fillums, where the hero can drag a gun from a swamp (having first punched aside two or more alligators) and it will work perfectly right away.
