You are completely right of course Scarg and I am sorry if I caused offence.
I know this is a little late and I might have already said this! but no offence was taken. I was just musing in what I hoped was a non passive-aggressive manner on the sadness of a child's death, no matter how long ago it happened.

It can get to some peeps, push them over the edge cause the other person is happy, and they aint. To be honest I think you should sing them anytime you want, its a song, i was singing Christmas songs in Feb one year, we were knee deep in snow, it looked pretty as we were indoors
I totally agree. I used to sing xmas carols on hot summer days, whilst imagining snow. It helped me work through the blistering heat.

I've forgotten many things when taking a flight and even lost items at airports, but I never once left my baby behind.

A young mother on a flight from Saudi Arabia to Malaysia reportedly had the shock of her life when she realised she had accidentally left her baby behind in the airport terminal. The Saudi Arabian Airlines flight to Kuala Lumpur returned to its gate in King Abdulaziz airport, Jeddah after the panicked woman alerted cabin crew that she had forgotten to bring her child.
A video of the pilot requesting Air Traffic Control in Arabic and English for permission to return has gone viral on social media. “May God be with us. Can we come back or what?” he is heard asking. One of the surprised controllers can then be heard telling a colleague: “This flight is requesting to come back…a passenger forgot her baby in the waiting area, the poor thing.” He then adds: “OK, head back to the gate. This is totally a new one for us!”

I see Diane Abbott is flapping her lips about something she knows nothing about actually she does know something but decides to play the blame game instead and it's police cuts that causeing the rise in knife crime because there not enough police on the streets to deal with it.politicians aways have to lie it's annoying and dishonest.

Knife crime: if you like.
Diane Abbot's flapping lips: no, thank you.

If there are any takers this will be moves to a more suitable thread in MAINSTREAM NEWS.

PeePee. One of Youtube's weirdest, together with a list of over 400 other animations to give you the screaming hab-dabs!

Truth to tell, there is a certain monotony to the themes of many of these horrors: existential angst in the face of consumption, excretion and reproduction, kill-or-be-killed scenarios. The techniques, deployed with varying degrees of skill, turn out to depend on standard tools in the digital editing-suites.

The ones that seem most disturbing turn out to be closer - hopefully not too much closer - to the human form. Which brings us back to PeePee, an odd vision made of cardboard and soap suds . . . :actw:

I'm not sure how apocryphal the tale is, but I recall being told that at the height of Beatlemania John Lennon was asked by an adoring fan whether in his opinion Ringo was the best drummer in the world, to which he replied: Ringo's not even the best drummer in the Beatles.

I was told once that Ringo was so bad at drumming that Paul would go back into the studio and rerecord himself on drums. Specifically this was about the track Strawberry Fields. Like you, unsure how true it is as I really dislike the band and I am unwilling to verify any of it.

... Not all flash and technique, but just what is required and the kind of 'narrative drumming' that helps shape the tone and shape of the songs.
Exactly ... Ringo was always underrated as a drummer because the Beatles (once they'd 'hit') weren't a conventional rock 'n roll band featuring the percussion. He's hardly noticeable on many of the early hits, where the rhythm is carried as much or more by the guitars than his Ludwigs.

As time went on, he had to evolve new techniques for the sort of peer instrumentalist contributor role that was relatively unique to his situation and the context of Martin's production approach. If anything, Ringo was arguably the Beatle whose instrumental capabilities and chops evolved the most during the group's heyday.

I think there is a Thread for terrible paintings/sculptures etc but I can't locate it. Mods: please move the post if appropriate.

A new sculpture of a lion with a shaggy mane in the Kenyan capital Nairobi has been replaced after it got ridiculed on social media.

Since it was placed in the middle of the University Way roundabout at the beginning of last week, bewildered motorists and pedestrians have been stopping to take pictures of the beast, which quickly became a talking point in the national press and a figure of fun on Twitter.

One Twitter user pleaded: "Please guys help Sonko (Nairobi's governor) get a better Lion. What he has put is an embarrassment to the nation."

But residents woke up on Saturday morning to find that the "ugly lion" had been replaced with a new one, and no longer adorned with faux fur. One Twitter user proclaimed the result "the power of social media".

"In the quite and chills of the night when Nairobi was deep asleep, Sonko replaced the stuffed lion with an acceptable lion statue," the tweet said.

Dutch Dance crazed civil servants face a dilemma.

Dutch civil servants have been warned off dancing in their staff restaurant for fear that the floors of their renovated building might not take the strain.

The foreign ministry has circulated a memo saying safety concerns mean they should also avoid over-stacking photocopier paper, placing a second row of chairs around conference room tables, or installing heavy cupboards and safes in their offices, the NOS public broadcaster reports. King Willem-Alexander himself opened the building in The Hague in November 2017 after extensive renovation work, but it has been plagued by staff complaints from the start.

He was a good drummer but Paul got so perfectionist toward the end that he did go back and rerecord the drum part.
My son works at a high end hotel in Atlanta and Mr. Starr came for a stay last year. By the end of which all the staff were talking about what an asshole he is.

I remember the ridiculous overreaction to his message, yes. He was refusing to sign anymore because people were sending him priceless objects and memorabilia through the post to be autographed, and he was concerned that many would be damaged or lost (and who would pick up the tab for that?). So he wasn't being an "egomaniac", he was being careful and thoughtful.
