Any help would be appreciated in trying to identify this animal.
I was at a castle in the republic of Ireland on saturday night during the night two prints had been left which I spotted immediatly the next morning.
The prints where similair to a dog but had three toes, as a dog and cat have four.
They measured 45mm across x 40mm long and the three toes in front where evenly spaced.
There where two prints with about 24 inches between.

Can anyone shed any light on this as I have eebn looking all morning trying to find mammal tracks which woiuld match this.

Many regards.

Bit of a longshot this, but I noticed you are in Northern Ireland
You have a couple of Red Pandas loose there at the moment, and it occurs to me that the configuration of the Red Pandas front paws can give the impression of 4 toes (the have an extended pad on the first digit which may make it seem as if it is part of the sole) and if the thumb is lifted...

I said it was a long shot

Maybe some sort of bird? They don't all have thin feet.
