I think they're the most evil-looking birds I've ever seen.

My daughter and little grandson (2 and a half) visited earlier today. He gravitated immediately to the iPad and we played a game testing him on his knowledge of animals. He recognised the "effant", cow, dog, "Peppa" pig and even tiger. Then I showed him a photo of a shoebill stork. He frowned a bit and then said "die saur?"
I told him a dinosaur was near enough.

How about the Dracula Parrot?

Looks like the unholy love-child of a parrot and a vulture and lives in everyone's favourite cryptid hot spot, Papua New Guinea.
Its grim name is somewhat unfair though. It doesn't have a taste for blood, but eats only figs, flower blossoms and nectar.
