Yes! Name the guilty. :D

Yes. We need pictures of the board members who attended UnCon.

And a copy of Photoshop, and some trashy pornography from the 'net. Hang on, is this thing still on? Uh oh.

I'm sorry what were we discussing... Oh My God Look Over There!!!!

Exits, hurriedly.

The Beak of Death is taking care of that... Mwahahahahahaha... :D

EDIT
And we suspect that Conners is one of us, using an alias. That's the second time he doesn't turn up... :sceptic:

hello,

I was there!

I was on my ownsome, since the missus and I decided to go only to the Sunday talks, and I left her at a party in Ealing.

Turned up about half seven at the Scars, but couldn't see anyone resembling a crowd of Forteans. Scooted back to Ealing at 8 after slowly sipping a Coke for half an hour. By that time there were a group of people on the outside patio bit (on the left as you exit the pub) who were definitely Forteans, but I couldn't see any avatars, and I must admit, I bottled it somewhat by being too coy to ask if it was you lot.

Was it?

:(

*edit* P.S. I texted Adrian to ask if you were all there, but maybe he's changed his number or didn't get it till morning

It was us!!!!!!!! I would have thought you would have recognised melf from his avatar.

so, in some kind of remote fortean way we have met...........

Oh, bugger!

Damn my reticence. I'm not a shy person so don't know why I didn't just ask....

i know well take a flag with us next yr :D

Home at Last!!!!!!

Well I'm finally back to my calm and peaceful world... and my pc!!! I missed you so much :sob: welcome back to proper internet access :p

It was really nice meeting some of you guys, I'm sorry I wasn't around long, I was kinda knackered and not much good company so I thought it would be best to shoot off rather than sit there like a lead rudder.

Anyhoo I didn't actually manage to run into many of you guys on the sunday so the last impression you proper got of me was my retreating back :( and me the person who started this meet thread in the first place, lol.

By the way schnor I've got loads of pics but you can't see any of them cos I'm sending them to ft to see if they want to use any (fingers crossed) so you might see them then. And Lutzman good pic, very similiar to one of mine so don't go sending that off or I'll break your legs :blah:

p.s. Sally you were cute, Beakboo does anyone ever tell you you look like the actress from Teachers? And redhead with the attache case whose nickname escapes me now - sorry I didn't stop to speak to you when we bumped into each other at the door, it's just that I was prepared to see a redhead with an attache case but you didn't say you were a very attractive redhead with an attache case! :blah:

p.p.s. who do I owe a pint of guinness to again?

blues did you enjoy your roast dinner then?

No. But I was once told I looked like Tom Conti. Seriously. :( And Eleanor Bron. And some tennis player. (No, not Ilie Nastase :p )

home at last

being abducted by space aliens on Friday night was certainly a memorable experience

we went to the moon and I have the pictures to prove it

they very kindly replaced me and Posh Bird with a couple of shape changers who had the amazing ability to appear on photographs as two pissed people

which is fortunate for the wanker who ran that last boozer we tried to get into with his "Nobody told me there was a convention and I only got a skeleton staff so I cant serve you"

is it incumbent upon the Commonwealth Institute to warn every pub within a 2 mile radius that they may expect their takings to increase when there is a convention?

that aside, our alien replacements had a fab time meeting Fortean humans and say they owe somebody a pint

BW or Melf for the 'Person who is actually their Avatar in real life' Award 2003?

votes on a postcard please...

Why did I click on that link? I should have known what was on the other end.

Plymouthians? You mean there's more than one of us??

Ha! Thy conspiracy fooleth nobody. There is no such place as Plymouth. Man would die if forced to live so far from Hadrians Wall. Tis proven scientific fact

There was a few strange goings on at the uncon though, take this photographic exvidence for the existance of ghosts/angels/demons for example lutzman provided me with.

(if any one wants me to blank their faces in it pm me btw)

Seems to be!

(And btw Spooky, I know you said you find it hard to meet up with peeps you don't know, even those online buddies (I get it too) and I hadn't been on here long, but decided to go anyway, overcome the shyness, and had a great time! - Sometimes you've just gotta throw your shyness out the window and go4 it! ):D

- Our existence is to prove that fact otherwise :D !!!

Spooky goings on at uncon

Well maybe not spooky but certainly very coincidental...

On my way back home on the train I sat and scratched off some instants I'd bought just off Piccadilly Circus, I'd planned it as a kind of Location-Based-Luck experiment.

I had originally planned to buy 20 quids worth or a tenners worth but in the end plumped for 7 which is kinda my lucky number for lazy reasons rather than superstition. The first four I scratched off came up bumpkiss, just like every instant I have bought over the past two or three months, not even a pound back, which surely must be below chance. Anyway I was getting a mite annoyed and decided to leave one of the instants for when we stopped at Durham station.

Durham has always seemed lucky to me for some reason, just the other week I ended up there by accident, meaning to be at work in the totally opposite direction, and I took the opportunity of my stay there to call my credit card ppl and beg them to raise my limit, which they did (without that raise I couldn't have come to uncon at all).

So when we stopped at Durham I picked a ticket out at random and scratched it off. It was a winner. Not only that but it was one of those match your lucky number to one of our numbers jobby. And guess what number my lucky number was??? Yep = 7.

I only won 2 quid but it's the principal that counts.

When I got home and looked through the pics I took I spotted something on a pic I'd taken of the old Aldwych tube station down the strand. I had ran around on monday like a whippet taking as many pics of things like this, which interest me sad as that is, just before my train went.

I'd been a bit let down by uncon, well more by myself really. I'd planned to do some networking, push the Geordie Big Hairy Monster Exhibition and give out some of my business cards. I ended up doing nowt, apart from doing some leaflets which I think no one took a blind bit of notice of. So I was a bit despondent when I got home.

Whilst I was taken the pic of Aldwych station (the bit down the side off the strand not the little facade on the strand) I noticed a teenaged girl hanging around there looking like she wanted to go in. I was about to tell her if she was expecting to catch a train she was about 5 or 6 years too late but I didn't and took my pic with her in it. When I came to look at it I zoomed right into her, which is the cool thing about digital photography, to get a good look at her.

Then I noticed written on the old wooden exit doors about two foot away from her this..... "Have Hope"

A message?

Weird coincidences and deus ex machina anyway.

So I've cheered up now :blah:

I thought you seemed a bit down at the Scarsdale. I put it down to the terrible beer you were drinking ;) Glad you're feeling better.

Thermal....

Which one were you then?

Sorry like I said I was knackered at the meet :sob:

I think next year we should think ahead and try to maybe book somewhere where it will be only us and we won't have to hustle to get a place or be heard, and there won't be pretentious yuppies coming in and out and giving us hackey looks :furious:

Looks to me more like evidence that Lutzman needs to cut down.

At least while he's taking pictures.

You and Thermal are going to book somewhere for next year, do I hear wedding bells, is it time to buy a new hat?
Might want to try and remember what the young lady looks like, saves embarressment at the alter

I was the one with extremely short very dark brown hair, nearly 6ft, with a deep masculine voice and had the best tan out of the lot of ya!!!!!! :D
(that comment especially for Swan, referring to his above post as he's being mischievous again)

Don't buy it??

Ok, ok, I was the one in the 3/4 length leather jacket, 5ft 8 or 9 ish with mid-length auburn wavy hair, stood near the entrance of the pub in the early evening. I brought my friend with the blue and black hair along, so I was chatting to her for a short time.

Then later, I sat in the way of everyone who needed to get in and out of the pub!. (Space was very limited-Sat beside Swan and The Plymouth girl's Mum-again apologies I've forgotten your name!)
I was also wearing a spiky bracelet and spiky chocker necklace!

Ethelred, knocked ma drinkie over !! (my fault for not puttin’ it under my chair!) He was more concerned about it goin' all over his boots!!!-which it didn't thankfully - I caught it in time ;)

So, Zavian Friday , how would you describe yourself? - I'm having a hard time remembering whose who too!

Who was the guy whom (when he said goodbye), Adrian V said the pose he put on, looked like a superhero pose, like he was going off to conquor the world?! Was that u Zavian?

Thermal

Nah Thermal I was the one who melted away into the background like one of those Natrel dudes.

I believe I was the one you bought a pint of Guinness for, and I still owe you a drink in return. I came to the pub with Ethel, and probably looked shattered and shellshocked a bit like an Iraqui grandma.

And stop being coy, why don't you put in your description "very attractive"?

;) :p
