Upcoming DC Comics Adaptations

I'd say the previous attempts failed due to writing rather than casting.

I really liked Gene Hackman as Lex (though he didn't), thought he was funny and intimidating when I was a kid. Mind you, how did he organise all that with only two staff, one of whom is an idiot, and the other whose head is quickly turned by his arch-enemy?

I'll take that string of words to mean they failed again. Incidentally in the comics Luthor once ran for president and won. That is what I think of when I see Trump.

I've just seen it. It's a bit 'meh'. The best thing about it was Wonder Woman. She even had cool theme music. Extended, surreal dream sequences aren't a substitute for character development, or for a lack of anything interesting that's relevant to the plot to put on screen. The action was annoyingly predictable. It had good moments though.

The motivations seemed on the ball but not the surface character, he sort of blurts out semi-gibberish like he's thinking a lot faster than he can make words or put them together in a meaningful way.

Dunno if that is a hipster thing.

Suitably arrogant and psychopathic though.

By the way, can anyone tell me

Did Bruce Wayne intercept the kryptonite meteorite because Lex allowed him to? Like was it set up that way because it was more dangerous to Superman in Batman's hands?

That's how I read it, but I did wonder the same thing myself. If it was made clear at any point, I must have been thinking of something else, as I often was.

EDIT Actually, Lex did say something about giving Bats a 'Fighting chance' before his 'man and god and devil' drivel. I assumed it was to the subject of your question that he was referring.

I think the Green Lantern comics are dull. How ever the movie, even though not to adults taste, was great for kids. A man that can do or create any thing with their imagination. Kids can relate to that, because kids do that. It's the perfect movie for them and should of carried on with more movies.
Wonder Woman looks more like an Amazon, I like, it's like she just came out of a sword n sorcery movie. How ever real Amazon's were topless and even cut off one of their breasts, because it got in the way of fireing arrows from bows. I like the Wonder Woman comics. And I love Lynda Carters portrayal of her.
The girl from Neighbours. I love her as Harley Quinn all ready. The movie looks great and so does Killer Croc. Who sometimes drawn in the comic looked like the Blob with teeth. I truelly think he should always look like a crocodile. But to my utter sadness Tigress is missing, I wanted to see a tiger lady!
Civil War. Even though not out yet could've been so much more, if Marvel, Sony and Fox decided to just get along for once and do how it was in the comic. I had the same feeling for the 2nd Avengers movie. I'm still going to watch it though Black Panthers in it.

I'm a big fan of The Phantom I would like to see a new movie of that. The comic is big in Australia for some reason, which was fortunate for me on my visit there. I acquired a good few issues. Also there equivalent of Nuts and Zoo magazine, which you have to be 14 and over to buy, have full nudity. There can't be any open pink on show, unless the models Minnie, is naturally shaped like that. I bought some of those mags. It was quite boring over there. I usually do things on my own because I know friends and family won't enjoy doing the same things I do. But Auzz is better enjoyed, I would think, in a merry group, because there is a lot of great sights, but usually hours to get too.

The story about Amazons cutting off a breast to make them better at archery is an urban myth. Or, er, legend as they could be known. They may have been topless but they didn't self-mutilate. There are plenty of non-Amazon female archers down history who have no trouble with the bow and arrows, Geena Davis for one.

I wouldn't say no trouble, but some well placed padding helps.

Mmmm Geena Davis.

Wish Harley had her proper voice. Slightly overdoing in in the shooting guns department too, something else must happen in it, right?

I finally saw the Batman V Superman movie. The good news is it was not ruined by having Affleck play Batman. The script, direction and dialogue made that seem like just a minor mistake.
I must say with parents like these, it's a wonder Superman ever put on the cape. "Be their hero, or don't. You don't owe this world anything Clark."

Perhaps not the correct thread for this, but would like to have seen the Captain Planet movie that was announced a few years ago! It'd be a lot better than Batman V Superman...

Maybe Viola Davis wasn’t in on the joke.

The 50-year-old, award-winning actress revealed she also received one of Jared Leto’s infamous gifts during the filming of “Suicide Squad” — and she was a little scared by it.

Turns out The Joker actor sent Davis, who plays Amanda Waller in the villain-themed flick, a box of bullets.

“It was a little worrisome,” Davis told E! News. “It made me a little bit nervous and I’m pretty tough. You know I got into a few fights when I was growing up... but it scared me a little.”

Leto in preparation for his performance as The Joker opted to utilize method acting and retained his villainous persona the entire time he was on set. Other gifts he sent to cast members include a live rat, a dead hog, a used condom, anal beads and porn magazines. ...

There's such a thing as trying too hard, Jared. Just act.

Ryan Reynolds always plays smart alec characters. I guess it worked for Deadpool but for me it didn't for Green Lantern. I never saw Hal Jordan that way.

I don't know if we have a thread for The Flash around here somewhere?

Looks like Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) is going to be in season 3.

I just hope the main villain will not be another speedster.

Honest Trailers do Batman v Superman

By the way, can anyone tell me what the significance of the glass of something in the courtroom just before it explodes was?

It's listed under Lex's plan in the video as 'Pee in a jar' - did I totally miss something?

Edit: Just got to the end of that vid... it actually is a jar of pee?

Ok, I finally had to google the jar of piss to find out what it's about, spoilers:

In the movie, Lex(villain) wants clearance for getting the Kryptonite found (in the Indian Ocean) so that he can weaponize it. Senator Finch doesn't agree to that. In that scene, he asks whether he can call her 'June'(her first name).
She replies, "You can call me whatever you like. Take a bucket of piss and call it Granny's peach tea. Take a weapon of assassination and call it deterrence. You won't fool a fly or me. I'm not gonna drink it."

So, Lex Luthor leaves a jar of his urine for her in order to scare her just before she blows up. He made her think of him in her last moments.
