Glastonbury festival deploy Reichian weapon

Glastonbury wheels out its cloudbuster

A cloudbusting gun could be the secret weapon in the fight to stop Glastonbury festival becoming a mudbath this year.

With sunshine and showers forecast, the festival's organiser, Michael Eavis, was inspired to act by Sir Paul McCartney's hi-tech attempts to keep fans dry during a concert in Russia. McCartney, who is headlining on Saturday, sprayed dry ice into rainclouds.

Mr Eavis has dug out his homemade cloudbuster, designed by the Austrian psychologist and 60s cult figure Wilhelm Reich, whose invention was last deployed at the festival in 1971. Reich's contraption is said to work by extracting "deadly orgone radiation" from the atmosphere, turning clouds into rain.

Mr Eavis hopes a neighbour will agree to have the cloudbuster set up several miles from Worthy Farm, so rainclouds can be "broken up" before they reach the festival.

"I had a phone call from Sir Paul's people saying 'what are you doing to prevent rain?'" Mr Eavis said. "This looks like an anti-aircraft gun and you point it at the clouds. It's all done through the orgone energy thing Reich believed in."

Cloudbusting Could Keep Glasto Dry

Following the example led by McCartney, who recently sprayed dry ice into clouds before a gig in Russia to prevent rain recently, Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis is using a cloudbusting gun to keep his festival dry.

McCartney recently played his 3000th concert in St Petersburg earlier this week and according to reports sprayed the sky with dry ice in an attempt to keep his 60,000 strong audience dry.

The process (which reported cost the organizers ,000) is claimed to hold the water in the clouds and prevent rain. The technique was adopted by Russian president Vladimir Putin earlier, to ensure that rain did not play havoc with the city's 300th anniversary celebrations.

Now inspired by McCartney, Eavis has revelled he has his very own homemade cloudbuster, which he intends to use to prevent this year’s Glastonbury being a wash out. The homemade contraption was designed by Austrian psychologist
and 'physician-scientist' Wilhelm Reich and was last used at the festival back in 1971.

Reich’s “investigation of energy functions in human emotions” led to his discovery of what he claimed was “an unknown energy which exists in all living matter and in the cosmos”. He called this energy orgone. Eavis’s cloudbuster is supposed to extract "deadly orgone radiation" from the atmosphere, turning clouds into rain.

The plan is to set the devise up a few miles from the festival so that rain clouds can be 'broken up' before they reach the site.

"I had a phone call from Sir Paul's people saying: "What are you doing to prevent rain?" explained Eavis, "This looks like an anti-aircraft gun and you point it at the clouds. It's all done through the orgone energy thing Reich believed in."

LBJ ON WEATHER CONTROL

"From outer space comes the power to control the earth's weather,
to cause drought and flood,
to change the tides and raise the levels of the sea,
to divert the Gulf Stream and
change temperate climates to frigid."
~ Senator(and later President) Lyndon Johnson
The cover story from the October, 2004 issue of Scientific American magazine described a NASA- funded study of how the power beams from solar satellites could be used to steer a hurricane away from coastal cities by warming the air on one side or the other of its path. It also explained

Aftermath of Hurricane Charley
how this beam could break up hurricanes, typhoons and even tornadoes by disrupting the delicate heat balance they need to survive. The article can be seen at: www.scientificamerican.com.

FT did an article a few years ago about a guy called William Reich (?) who thought he had designed a device to control the weather. I think Kate Bush's "Cloudbusting" is about the same thing.

Yeah, Reich was pretty out there. The thing he thought he could control the weather with worked on what he called 'orgone', a kind of all-purpose energy that was released during the human orgasm. Serously. :sceptic:

He did get railroaded by the U.S. Government pretty badly, way out of proportion to his crimes, IMO.

I remember there was a rumour that the 1987 English hurricane was as a result of an experiment with a Reich cloudbuster - IIRC it's mentioned in "Left at East Gate", Larry Warren's account of the Rendlesham Forest UFO (he also mentions a vast underground complex in Suffolk with alien craft therein). Anyway, it's said there was a Reich machine installed at either Woodbridge or Bentwaters, but experiments were stopped after the UK Govt bellowed following the hurricane.

Make of that what you will.

Anyway, lengthy and occasionally illuminating thread about Chemtrails

Whatever happened to Julian Penrod? I miss him, in a funny way...

This thread is being established to serve as a compendium on suggestions and efforts to control the weather.

This new Smithsonian article provides a summary overview of 6 such projects - some of which were attempted, and some of which remained pipe dreams.
