Cornish terror group “Ooh R A” claims Stein arson attack & to have would-be suicide bomber
Joe Mellor July 9, 2017

A Cornish terror group dubbed the ‘Ooh R A’ has claimed responsibility for firebombing Rick Stein’s seaside restaurant – and claims it has a would-be SUICIDE BOMBER in its ranks.

The Cornish Republican Army (CRA) says it carried out the attack last month as part of a renewed campaign to prevent the “ethnic cleansing of the people of Kernow”.

Formerly known as the Cornish National Liberation Army (CNLA), the group has been dormant for over a decade and was believed to have been disbanded.

But in an official blog announcing the name change, the group made a series of chilling threats – including that it has a female martyr prepared to die for the cause.

Fire brigade attend the fire at Rick Stein’s Porthleven restaurant.

The statement said: “Our organisation has grown and we now have one member who is prepared to pay the ultimate price in the battle for Kernow.

“She is prepared to sacrifice herself although we shall not ask for this lightly – only as a last measure.”

The posh eatery Rick Stein Porthleven was badly damaged by fire in the early hours of Monday June 12.

A lean-to bin store which housed three gas cylinders was set alight and firefighters who extinguished the blaze said it was just 15 minutes from destroying the restaurant.

Investigations into the cause of the blaze are ongoing and arson has not yet been ruled out.

But now the alleged terror group has come out of hiding to claim it carried out the attack along with two other recent fires in Truro and Penryn. ...

Police rubbish claims of Cornish Republican Army over Rick Stein restaurant fire or alleged suicide attacker

Police have rubbished claims by a self-proclaimed Cornish terror group that it was responsible for a series of recent fires and allegedly even has a female suicide attacker amongst its ranks.
The Cornish Republican Army, which was formally known as the Cornish National Liberation Army, wrote an official blog post last week after apparently disappearing for more than a decade.

On the blog, which appears to have since been shut down, the group claims to have set off a "practice device" in the old Redruth Brewery and was responsible for two fires in Truro, one in Penryn and also the recent damage to Rick Stein's Porthleven restaurant.

However, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service has since poured cold water on this most recent claim, saying an investigation into the cause of the fire at Porthleven showed that the most likely outcome was that it was an electrical issue, "not one of deliberate ignition."

The terror group also claimed a member was willing to die for its cause, adding: "Our organisation has grown and we now have one member who is prepared to pay the ultimate price in the battle for Kernow. She is prepared to sacrifice herself although we shall not ask for this lightly - only as a last measure."

However, a spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We have nothing to suggest that what is stated within these blogs is credible."
The Cornish nationalist organisation has historically threatened to carry out acts of vandalism and arson against commercial targets that it considers to be English in Cornwall, with threats already made against Mr Stein's businesses in the past.

Normal for Cornwall?

A man wearing a "Friday 13th"-style mask and brandishing a meat cleaver chased people around a seaside resort, police have said.

It happened in the Fore Street area of Newquay, Cornwall, at about 04:40 BST. Devon and Cornwall Police said they received a "number of calls" from terrified members of the public who had been threatened. Officers arrested a man at about 05:10 BST and he remains in police custody. No one was injured in the incident.

Asking from a distance, is there such a thing as ethnic Cornish? Given how convenient travel there is I would have thought all that remained is the place names.

Far from the madding crowd - llama run free in Cornwall.

Up to 150 llamas running free on land in Cornwall are being found new homes after their owner died, a charity says.

The British Llama Society said the animals near Falmouth were initially being cared for by volunteers and a farm manager after the owner's death. Those doing the feeding said they could not continue with the work.

Robina Chatham, from the society, said the 150 animals needing homes were now down to about 50 and work was still ongoing to look after them.

She said the animals had been "running free for some time", but "we've got about 50 left and we have a plan in place, so the majority are going to Scotland within the next week or so".
