What with the sad news about uncon the Weird Weekend (Thursday the 16th- Sunday the 19th of August) is now the UK's largest Fortean event.

For anyone who doesn't know the Weird Weekend is the annual event organised by the Centre for Fortean Zoology and has been second only to Uncon in terms of attendance. The event takes place from Thursday to Sunday with talks on ALL aspects of Forteana on Friday evening through to Sunday evening, and a cocktail party the Thursday before, at the CFZ's country pile open to punters and speakers where you can meet and have a talk with experts in their field, catch up with old friends, make new friends and quaff margaritas.

The venue is the same as last year, Woolsery community centre in Woolsery near bideford, North Devon. And there IS a bar on site with a late licence.
