A few weeks ago I completed an interactive map of West Norfolk ghosts. This has over 400 brief summaries, most of which have come from my book but there are many I've learned of since then. Anyway, pan, zoom and click on the icons

Unfortunately late last year and early this year I had a mini nervous breakdown caused by the antics of the local ghost group. They weren't very happy that I had found out that they were fleecing ghost enthusiasts and took to besmirching my name. One of the hate messages I received said, "you'd better watch out or you'll end up as a f**ing ghost."
My enthusiasm for the subject is nowhere near as strong as it was and I've mostly spent the last year living as a hermit lest I be beaten up the thugs if I venture into town. Most days I get no further than the shops, ten minutes away. I've had three requests to give talks in the locality and I've had to turn them all down.

Anyway, in a break from my exile I've created the following display which will soon be put up in the local library.

Brilliant timing Paul. I've been on the phone with a friend and local investigator called Jason Gotts (how's that for a Norfolk surname!) tonight to talk about going out hopefully this weekend. We're thinking about going back to Thetford Priory because we got some crazy rem pod activity last time we were there. You'd be more than welcome to join us if you like on a 'thug free' evening. I won't be offended if you don't want to but please send me a pm if you do so I can tell you what's happening. Of course your good wife would also be welcome if she wants to come along.

edit: for anyone who doesn't know Thetford Priory

We're also talking about going here on the same evening ..

Possibly here as well ..

Thanks Swifty. I'm really tempted but I'm afraid I'm going to have to pass for the time being. I've got a few more interviews to give and then I'm taking a little break to recharge. Thanks for the offer about my wife but she doesn't have the same enthusiasm as I have for the subject!

@DrPaulLee been there, done that... give the police the stuff and take a deep breath. Also :bpals: :bpals: :oldm::oldm:

Research interests come and go. I mean, I started off with dead anglo-saxons!

If you want to vent to someone, PM me.

Hi @Frideswide , I should have contacted the police but I let it go as I thought I could deal with it. Unfortunately it has weighed on my mind and has gotten worse in the last month as I can anticipate a resumption of their attacks.
Thanks for your very kind words, I appreciate them. I think I have an article or two left for the FT but as far as further ghost books go, they're on hold. They just don't sell.

I'm very sorry to hear of your troubles, Paul. It truly is without excuse to make such threats.

I know it's a long shot, and also east Norfolk, but does anyone happen to know of a ghost hunting group who've investigated St Benet's Abbey on the River Bure in the last couple of years?

I made the local printed press well over a week after the paywalled digital version. They missed out the URL of the map too!

I'd include a photo but I have no way to resize it at present. It's too big to upload.

A friend has set up a Tik Toc page for his invest group Norfolk Forgotten History and he's inviting anyone who's interested to peruse it and or follow him. I'm off to a location with him on Tuesday the 12th this month, I think he's doing a live stream of it. I've been on three invests with him so far, he's also into building his own rem pods.
