Out of interest, I listened to the start of Fearne Cotton's new 90s show on Radio 2 last night, and she opened with the Fatboy Slim remix of Groove Armada's I See You Baby. Name one tune that was better after Fatboy Slim remixed it! There aren't any! This is what it should sound like:

Anyway, then she played You're Gorgeous by Babybird and I hate that song, so retreated to the experimental stuff on Radio 3.

RIP Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne, dead of coronavirus at 52. He had a great skill at writing catchy pop rock:

And he wrote the theme tune for this cult Tom Hanks movie, among other things:

RIP.

Rediscovered this yesterday, and I'm so generous I wanted to share with you all. Plus it has bonus zebras in the thumbnail :D

Nick Rhodes (my second-favourite Duran Duran member, and first favourite Arcadia member) is looking very effective here. Hair... check. Cool outfit... check. Dropping rose petals... check.

Man, that new Thundercat album is smoooooth, even when he goes nuts on the bass. Here's his latest video:

He may be covered in cat hair, but he still smells good...

Oddly, John Prine was mentioned on the last page of the book I've just finished.

Yes I know Mr. Motivator is trying to get us to exercise around our Ikea furniture but some of us may prefer to Do The Standing Still.

[Here’s the thing]
If you smile enough then everybody smiles
If you just work a little harder you’ll get by
You can trust a man
Who wears a suit and tie
It’s all just lies, [lies, lies, lies]

[Here’s the thing]
If your parents worked
To earn it then it’s yours
And if you’re barely getting by
Then it’s your fault
Everything in life is fair and that’s the rules
It’s all just [lies lies lies]

Working from home, there are tunes that pop up on the radio (R6M) that bear listening to once or twice a weekday.
For me,right now this is one of them.
