Just chatting with my Mum on the phone. She told me that another of my schoolfriends, Julie M, died in March.
She only found out now because she's been in touch with her Mum.
:(
Julie never smoked but for years she worked as a croupier in a smoky casino. She died of throat cancer.

The late Roy Castle, another non-smoker, died of lung cancer. He believed it was from playing the trumpet in smoky clubs. You have to take a lot of deep breaths.

Eating toast. I am now about to go and set the fireplace in the lounge room as it's a wet, foggy day here with a dark and stormy night predicted.

Listening to Joni Mitchell. How we have screwed up the dreams we had in the 60's and 70's. When the wall came down we all thought a new era was coning in. How wrong we were.

Her album Blue has become so poignant to me I can hardly bear playing it - but at the same time it is so beautiful I can't resist. Hejira also brilliant with some great work from the long time gone Jaco Pastorius .

No, I just thought it was silly not to have a spare key somewhere in case of emergencies...
Our external doors have to be locked with a key so they can’t accidentally shut us out. I once managed it by locking the back door while I was in the garden and then padlocking the key in the shed, having previously placed the shed key in the kitchen so I didn’t lose it...

Having often necessarily been away from home past week, I was looking forward this morning to catching up with forum events.

Whilst perusing same, one couldn't help notice a trend which seems prevalent.

If I may, please, elucidate:

Toilet Talk
Flatulence, Farts & Farting
Weird Sex
An Odd Thing That Happened in a Men's Room

Now, that's arguably, 'par for the course' here, however, perhaps somewhat off-putting when one is contemplating a couple of rolls with sausages for breakfast.

Additionally which may have contributed, were topic headings, such as, 'The Really *Crap* Excuses Thread' and '*Bog* Bodies'.

Consequently, a simple glass of water shall suffice until lunchtime.

Most unlikely any forthcoming subject could conceivably be dissuasive...

Lithium In Water 'Curbs Suicide'

Fluoride & Fluoridation In Our Water Supplies

Right then... one shall relentlessy endure, go without sustenance and still enjoyably browse an uplifting discussion thread, such as undoubtedly the next...

Cholesterol Levels & Suicide / Mental Disorders

Depression

Well, at least 5 mins ago when started writing, I awoke to discover that having fallen asleep with mobile phone next to myself, I somehow rolled over on same, whilst notepad was open and had received a message from... you know... 'beyond'....

Can't say more for now - couple of guys in black suits and dark sunglasses turned up and took away my phone...

Said they were from 'my five' and had something to do with similar messages being received by others, including IKEA.

For a moment, I thought they said, 'David Ikea', or something like that.

Anyhow, I had secretary made a copy and thought should share with you...

...last week was helluva stressful and missed this crazy place!

The following is unedited - precisely as 'received'...

...following items 0 the first time in such a long time to get the information you need to get to the 0 pop up and running the site to the good Lord of the finest at his finest quality and best wishes for the best possible future for all of us 0 and the best of all the opposition in our pub...

... the TV at our end and the other one is the same as the one we had originally purchased from the amazon store and the amazon order is now working...

... and the order is now now available to the good Lord of the the month of July and the following items are now available for sale on the store and the first one is the first one to play to the good Lord...
