I'd be interested in hearing specifics. But I think that's because cryptozoology is so poorly defined. And I think we see hints of that in this article. There are strong elements of folklore, sociology, wildlife biology, etc. as well as overlap with conventional zoology. So there are definitely areas that deserve further research but the approach would be varied. Depending on your interest, I can certainly see how and why scholars and academics would be interested.Funny that, I know reputable scholars who would run a mile at anything pseudosciency but who nod knowingly at things like cryptozoology.
