Window-Seat UFOs

This is why I always ask for a window seat! Just a couple of UFOs seen from aircraft that I've never seen before. The first one is quite baffling, definitely looks external. The second one is strip of black plastic I'd say, no idea why its up there, but then again frogs, fish, nuts etc. have been known to be floating around up there. The third one was actually seen by the witness unlike the other ones which are 'I didnt see it at the time.....'

Hi Mark, yes i took the picture. I wish there were a story but i'm afraid its the cliched 'I didnt see it when i took the picture' and whenever i've read that i've always thought 'yeah, right', so maybe i should make something up so it sounds more interesting and plausible.

I honestly have no clue what this is. I was clicking randomly when we were about to reach Minneapolis and I caputured this object outside the Airplane.

It is NOT a reflection in the window. I was the only one sitting in my seat row and there was nothing else in my hand.

This is STRANGE!!

After leaving Houston we where on are way to Utah. During the flight I looked out the window and saw this cigar shaped object going along with us. At first I thought it was a building but it stayed with us and went over a cloud. It went in a straight line and did not move from its path. It was like this for a few minutes. I got this picture and made it back and white so you can see it easily. I am blessed that I got to see something I have always wanted to see. A UFO.

The "strip of black plastic" is obviously a hair on the lens. Like the first one though.

No, that would be too close to focus. Try it! At best you'd get a very blurry 'thing'.

Just possibly, if the camera was on autofocus, rather than distance/infinity (as it should have been, for an out-of-the-window-pic).

But that doesn't look like a hair - its thickness varies.

IIRC, some hairs have circular cross-section, some have an elliptical one, but I think the elliptical ones curl rather than twist, so that they'd still look a constant thickness if laid on a flat surface.

We need an expert on forensic hairology here! 8)

O yes I see what you mean, it probably focused really close up instead of infinity. Doh! Lucky that flickr has the EXIF tags for the photo, http://www.flickr.com/photos/gautamnguitar/2289393489/meta/

According to this site, http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/TagNames/Sony.html Tag::Sony::0xB040: 1 means "macro on"

Yuck, hope that's not one of those short and curlies lol

I take window seats with trepidation, especially if I have the whole aisle to myself, in case I look out and see a creature sitting on the wing vandalising it. Hey, that'd make a great film.......! :lol:
 
If it is a flying pube perhaps it fell off one of those "RODS"
you hear so much about. ;)
 
On a flight from Manchester to Dominican Republic about 12 years ago we saw what appeared to be a telegraph pole sticking out of the cloud bank across from us. We were about 20 mins into the flight and as we moved forward the angle of the pole changed from appearing vertical.

It was in our sight for about 30 secs I suppose and maybe have been about 20 thousand feet plus.

It would be impossible for it to have been a telegraph pole of course!

I wrote in to FT mag at the time and my letter was published with a mock up photo, but I don't think anyone could suggest any solutions.

(zombie thread) I've given my explanation for a very similar sighting on this forum before - because I've seen this too. Approaching Manchester from Europe you go past the Emley Moor transmitter - I've seen it from a plane, and it looks just like a dark brown cylinder sticking up out of the clouds. Almost exactly like that first image.

Of course that doesn't explain why you'd go past it on the way to the Dominican Republic, but maybe the plane was circling to gain height or something.

Have found this photo really intriguing, as it matches up with quite a number of other UFO photos I have previously examined - see for yourselves.
This is an enlargement of the UFO from the window seat in the aircraft:

Notice the wavy like appearance of the craft, and the overall shape being the round type of UFO.
