Woman Dating Alien Appears On British TV

Doesn't this remind you of the woman who wants to marry her model airplane that she sleeps with?
I may be projecting here, but I fear the dissatisfaction people have with finding suitable partners and the social pressure to be in a relationship has caused the adoption of fantasy relationships. There's never been a time when we've grown up more used to being ourselves, yet we seek relationships that require compromise. We'd give up relationships altogether if people didn't keep asking us about them and encouraging us to get involved with someone. Some of us, of course, have always felt alien, so perhaps a fantasy alien spouse makes sense.

On the other hand, 'That guy has a girl in every spaceport.'

It's more akin to the woman who married the ghost of a pirate.

At least with objectophilia there's a tangible object of one's affections that others can see. With the alien dater (like the pirate ghost wife) you simply have to take her word for her lover's existence, etc.
Wait a second - this woman told a ghost that 'she was no longer happy to just have casual sex', and had to be married?
And he was executed over 300 years ago?
Oh dear, I don't know what's worse - sex with a model airplane, or with a ghost, have to think about this! LOL

Gets you on telly & in the tabloids leading to who knows where. I wonder if that’s the major attraction. I mean - did she contact ITV herself or does she have an agent or friend who did? You’d have to be an unabashed self-publicist to do it but could get at least 5 minutes of fame. If you had a career you probably wouldn’t bother.

There’d be some sort of remuneration. I have no idea what sort of fee is paid for a story like this but it’s surely not going to be much.

Wacky Fodder to fill 5 minutes otherwise Phil & Holly would be staring at each other..

Sex with a ghost is clean, I'll give it that.

I'm sure good ole Phil has been Alien Probed and never trusted him when I was a kid with him being in the Broom Cupboard with Gordon.

Did she make any videos of her 'casual sex' with the over-300-years-dead ghost?

RE: The woman who "married" the pirate ghost
I can't stop laughing, never heard any of this before.

The story played out in multiple threads over a couple of years ...

Reminded me of this article:

“Japan's under-40s appear to be losing interest in conventional relationships. Millions aren't even dating, and increasing numbers can't be bothered with sex. ”

I'm fairly sure she's trolling/doing a comedy bit, given her descriptions of herself as 'postmodern' on her instagram and the content there (edit: including the #comedy, #comedian, #satire and #performanceart hashtags on her posts). It doesn't mean she's not also a bit mental, but this is a joke with a performance art aspect.
