My sister and I sound quite a bit alike, or so I'm told, and she's twelve years older than me. After we had both left home our parents used to get confused when we phoned because they weren't certain which of us they were speaking to.
I'm a middle aged short arse. Mothercare and Jacomo are my only potential employers.
It's not that I look like a movie star, much less a generically handsome one, but rather what most of my alleged face alikes shares is a squarish chin and short dark hair that seem somehow typically American.

Ten years later, twenty years after she vanished, Lucy Partington's remains were eventually found with those of other victims of Fred and Rose West. Seeing her photo again was like looking back at my younger self. It still gives me a jolt.
Poor girl, how she must have suffered.
*The doc was in the World in Action series, one of those half-hour British factual shows that looked at a different subject every week. It was marking the ten-year anniversary of Lucy's disappearance. I've never found any trace of it online or a mention of it since.
Now that Jeff Goldblum is popping up frequently on TV to advertise his new series on the Disney streaming service, my wife says he looks even more like me - notably since I've needed reading glasses for the last few months:
