Humans vs Zombies: Inspired by the RPG this film involves some participants who are caught up in a real-life Zombie Outbreak. Is it deliberately caused by the Illuminati/NWO? Some veterans who were sprayed with chemicals in foreign wars are immune to the virus. One veteran leads a group of students in an attempt to escape/survive.

A Dark Comedy/Horror/Satire. Above average for a low budget Zombie film and worth watching. IMDb gives it 4/10, as a Zombie fan I give it 6/10.

Dead Rising: Watchtower: Opens with a childrens TV ad for Zombrex, which will stop you from turning into a Zombie. Cuts to our hero: trapped between a Zombie Co, Zombie clown and a horde of Zombies kept back only by a gate secured by a screwdriver. Cut to news report which yells us that this is the third Zombie Outbreak in ten years. Cut to the Metrodome in East Mission where people are being assembled prior to occupation. Our hero is an Indy vid journalist: Lets make this story go viral! He discovers that the Zombrex isn't working and soon Zombies overrun the stadium. Mranwhile a biker gang is looting the city.

A perfectly passable film with conspiracy undertones.

World War Dead: Rise Of The Fallen: Found footage Zombie film. A film crew go to the Somme Battlefield intent on making a film about army units which disappeared during the Battle. Tension between the presenter and the historian are exacerbated by an ego-maniacal director. Figures appear on the horizon, a local tries to warn them about le supernatural. The historian relates a legend about a German regiment who were cursed and turned into the undead. They all have a chuckle at this, but subsequently find the remains of a Rhodesian soldier with an African Black Magic Amulet..

Then the Zombies attack. But the crazed director wants to continue with the documemtary. Attacks (at night) in a field enclosed by woods and underground trench tunnels add to a claustrophobic atmosphere.

Social commentary, satire and a dark vein of humour run through this very British Horror Film. IMDb only give it 3.2 but on my Z-Meter it gets 6.5/10.

Darkest Day: A man wakes up on Brighton beach with no memory of who he is; no, its not Jason Bourne: this is a (low budget) Zombiesque movie. Zombiesque because the crazed virus victims appear to be alive but otherwise act very much like Zombies and rule over Brighton. (Could this be an allegorical allusion to the Greens?). The man teams up with some uninfected partying dudes and gals in Brighton who avoided the army evacuation after the Viral Outbreak. Soldiers are now shooting anyone they see in evacuated areas.

Worth watching, 5/10.

Anger of the Dead : Zombie Outbreak in a diner; swiftly moves on. Yime has passed, we're on a bridge, deserted cars doors open, two survivors foraging. Zombies are attracted but things are even more complicated.

Award winning Zombie short, 15m 55s. Good acting, direction and Zombie make up. Italian with English s/t.This has potential to be expanded. 7/10

Maggie: A dark film, far darker than I expected. Two films struggling with each other, a father/daughter flick infected with a Zombie movie. .Theres the sensitive Arnie caring for his daughter and the real Arnie who kills a Zombie with his bare hands in the first ten minutes of the film.and shortly afterward axes his zombie neighbours; one of them a four year old girl.

The city looks wrecked, abandoned buned out cars, derelict buildings, the hospitals can't cope so infected patients are sent home until they reach "quarantine" stage. Much of the story of the plague is accessed through the background radio, a shock-jock wants all of the infected killed. We learn that crops are also failing and farmers are advised to burn the diseased crops.

We see fields burning and Arnie later burns his own infected crops. The countryside is also desolate. Power cuts occur continuously, things are far worse than the authorities pretend.

Maybe not as many Zombies as some would like but the darker aspects of the Zombie Outbreak seem to have been missed by some critics.

6.5/10.

Rise of the Zombies: The old song went: I left my heart in San Francisco; with the Zombie Outbreak you'll be leaving other parts of your anatomy there as well.

A water-borne virus has devastated the Bay Area and likely the rest of the U.S. as well. Survivors on Alcatraz work at developing a cure but Zombies float over and almost over run the prison. Those still alive after this attack decide to leave the island, some in search of a vaccine others just to escape. One scientist stays behind.

Fairly gruesome & gory, much eating of the living and even a new-born baby Zombie is brutally dispatched.

Starring Danny Trejo, Mariel Hemmingway (channeling her grandfather) & LeVar Burton this is watchable TV movie, 5/10.

Autumn: In the Fall comes The Fall. A Plague/Virus strikes, people fall down vomiting blood. A small band of survivors gather together, includig an angry clown in full make up, The dead rise but only shamble about,

Dissension among the living results in some leaving the city. Eventually three take refuge in a mansion and life seems good as they even get a generator going. But the dead are evolving: attracted by noise they now are more aggressive, becoming typical fast Zombies.

David Carradine has an interesting supporting role as an isolated survivor.

Adapted from a novel by David Moody, haven't read it but i've read his Hater trilogy where a virus/plague turns people into still human raging killers. The book may be better than this film which is so-so. 5/10

Anger of the Dead (aka Age of the Dead): This is the full length film inspired by the short but little remains of that apart from the bridge scene. A pregnant woman and two men make there way across the Zombie infested countryside in the hope of reaching a ferry to an island refuge.

In a parallel story-line a woman is kept captive and experimented on by a Walking Dead Governor type who hopes to find a cure for his Zombie wife.

An adult film with some gruesome scenes, even though the worse is implied rather than shown. 6/10

Zombie Massacre 2: Reich of the Dead.

For the first 35 minutes this could be a typical World War 2 film. Germany, Spring 1945, US soldiers cut off from their unit take shelter in a deserted building after wiping out a German patrol. Exploring the building one soldier comes across medical diagrams and hears moaning. In a bloody basement ward he finds a concentration camp prisoner, but its a Zombie and bites him.

The other soldiers come under attack from Zombies in striped uniforms.and kill them. Yes, the nazis are turning prisoners into Zombies. A soldier rescues an escapee from the main hospital where the experiments are carried out and she leads him back to it.

Dr Mengele is responsible for these heinous transformations!

Produced by Uwe Boll this is a watchable Zombie film. 5/10'

Extinction: TwoMen And A Little Lady, And Zombies.

Yes theres a Zombie Outbreak or Zomboid rather as they are not dead. Starts out with all but 4 of a busload of evacuees being wiped out in an attack. Two men, a woman & a baby girl survive but the woman has been bitten.
Nine years later. The men (living next door to each other) are bitter enemies, the girl lives with one who prefers a cloistered existence, the other is more of a survivalist. Flashbacks reveal the roots of their mutual animosity and the fate of the woman.

The Zomboids have developed and are encroaching on the humans territory, this and their feelings for the girl force the men to cooperate. To scout out new territories.and to search for other survivors.

While it does owe debts to I Am Legend and The Walking Dead this film succeeds on its own terms. A convincing Post-Apocalypse SF/Horror Thriller. 7/10

Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies: Emancipate This!, cries Abe as he beheads a Zombie!

1818, the young Abe's family is stricken by a Zombie Outbreak, leaving him the sole survivor.

November 1863, a lone survivor of a raid on a fort behind Confederate lines is seriously ill but talks of cannibalism and the dead rising. Knowing the truth Abe leads a team of Secret Service agents to deal with the Zombies.

Reaching the Fort, the gallant band finds that it has some interesting inhabitants: a young Confederate corporal named Pat Garrett; General Stonewall Jackson; a 12 year old Teddy Roosevelt; Abe's Ex, Mary Owens. Even John Wilkes Booth is part of Lincoln's team as a double agent.

Made on a tiny budget ($150,000) in comparison to Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and it shows at times. It also lacks that films vein of humour but it plays around with history to produce an entertaining story line. 6/10

Contracted: Drunk at a party, her drink may have been spiked, Sam has a sexual encounter. She starts to get ill, at first thinking is an STD. Then the police are seeking the man she had sex with. Sam's condition worsens.

She loses hair, teeth, her irises are red, insects drop from her, she becomes violent in a Zombiesque manner..

Yes we have a strange infection here.

A gruesome Horror film, not for the faint-hearted or weak stomached. 6/10.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2281159/

Contracted II: The girl has gone full Zombie took out two friends and her mother before police shot her. Oh and she also infected a guy who shagged her or maybe he was infected by one of her victims who rose and mauled him. Meanwhile we learn that the man sought by police in the first film is a misanthrope out to destroy humanity through spreading the virus,

A fun moment when two Mormons walk up the path to a Zombie's house.

Once again a gruesome Horror film, not for the faint-hearted or weak stomached. 6/10.

Navy Seals vs. Zombies: The Vice-President of the US is on a visit to Baton Rouge . when he is trapped by a Zombie Outbreak. A Navy Seal team is tasked with rescuing him. Communications with the city are down and the situation is confused.

When the team locate the VP it is obvious to them that they are in the middle of something strange. Back at the SEAL HQ a CIA agent reveals that a virus which "weaponises" people is responsible. A team of scientists in Baton Rouge may hold the key to a cure and must also be extracted.

Not at all the hackneyed film I was expecting. A proper script with plot development, competent acting, good editing and direction. 7/10.

Hidden: Yes, another Outbreak. A mother, father and daughter have hidden in a fallout shelter for 301 days, Food is running short and In an attempt to kill a rat an oil lamp is knocked over, the resulting fire is put out but it may attract the attention of the Breathers, whose stamping and heavy breathing can be heard. The family struggle to secure the shelter entrance against Breathers who attempt to break in.

Through flashbacks the story of the Outbreak gradually unfolds. The virus has turned many into fast moving Zombiesque creatures, difficult to kill and possessed of superhuman strength.

Good Horror/Thriller with an interesting plot twist. 7/10.

The Hive:Adam wakes, confused, suffering from amnesia. He has some infection but his girlfriend, Katie, is in a far worse state. Ala Memento he finds cryptic information written on walls. Through flashbacks he remembers how he, Katie, Jess and Clark (summer camp counselors) saw a plane crash.. Reaching the scene they are attack by a zombiesque survivor.

Fleeing their car crashes and Jess is infected by the survivor (he vomits a black liquid on he). She speaks in other voices, appears to have multiple personalities. Adam also has flashbacks of being in other bodies, of participating in Soviet mind science experiments carried out through viral infection of unwilling human subjects .Then of similar US experiments.

Telepathy, Dybbuks, Zombies and Mengelesque human experimentation meld in this harrowing SF/Horror thriller. 7/10

RE-KILL: Five years ago the Zombie Outbreak wiped out 85% of the Human Race. Nuclear bombs were dropped on San Francisco and Bejing in an attempt to contain the Plague, The Re-Kill Division is a military force tasked with defending the remaining outposts of humanity and re-killing the Zombies (called Re-Ans).

The story is told in the form of a reality TV show. Vid-Journalists go on patrol; with Re-Kill units, Commercial breaks have Ads for drugs to protect if you are bitten by a Zombie and encouragement for sex by the Coalition To Repopulate America. Also Ads for cigarettes are back.

Soldiers are interviewed: some are religious fundamentalists, some ordinary volunteers, others join to avoid prison or for a Green Card. The back story of the Zombie Outbreak is also related by RKD and soldiers speaking to camera on Outbreak News Channel.

Shades of RoboCop, Escape From New York and The Horde. 7/10.

Maggie: what it would actually be like to turn into a zombie, that is, heartbreaking and depressing and no fun whatsoever. Ahnold cast against type as a man who can do nothing to help, the world has fallen apart and has no need of him, all he can do is grieve. Not exactly an enjoyable movie, but it is interesting. Abigail Breslin is terrific in it, it's really her character's story (hence the title).

Just recently re-watched Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things, decided it's one of my favourite zombie films, next to Day of the Dead, Shock Waves and Zombie Flesh Eaters.
