Maggie: what it would actually be like to turn into a zombie, that is, heartbreaking and depressing and no fun whatsoever. Ahnold cast against type as a man who can do nothing to help, the world has fallen apart and has no need of him, all he can do is grieve. Not exactly an enjoyable movie, but it is interesting. Abigail Breslin is terrific in it, it's really her character's story (hence the title).
I liked it. The lack of dialogue for Arnie was a bonus. The role should have gone to a younger guy though. Michael Shannon wold have been perfect big enough to highlight the helplessness and able to deliver emotion without saying anything.

Yeah, it would have made more sense for Ahnold to be her grandfather. Maybe it was his movie star vanity that he wasn't? He thinks he can cycle on any side of the road he wants, now, for example.

Pride And Prejudice And Zombies: Good take on the old classic with added titbits. Not just Zombies but a Zombie plot to conquer the UK if not the World. A Zombie Aristocracy, smarter than the average revenants are behind this with a mysterious leader.

The Bennett sister are ass-kicking Zombie killers as is Mr Darcy, who as Colonel Darcy leads the fight against the undead. Great fun seeing Mrs Featherstone's Whist Party being overrun by Zombies. 7/10.

Ridge War Z: The Zombie War is over, we learn that 500,000 people died in the U.S. alone. Three veterans relate their stories to an author. They return to the Ridge where a savage battle was fought, talking about their comrades who died as they wind their way to the strong-point at the summit. The story is largely told in flashbacks with a voice-over by the author.

Six soldiers (including the three survivors) went to join those on the Ridge but find only 15 of the original 150 troops remain alive. Soon a Zombie attack ensues and we hear, over the radio, an outpost being overrun. This sets the tone for the film, it is over an hour before we see Zombies but the tension is maintained throughout.

Effects are a bit ropy but Given the film was apparently made on a budget of $1,000 this is high class amateur film making. 6/10

End of Days: Another amateur low budget production but again it delivers dividends. 40 minutes long it tells a Lord of the Flies style story as all of the survivors we see are in their teens. Humans can be as dangerous as if not more deadly than Zombies. 6/10.

highschool of the dead its a anime and it does have some fan service but try to see past that and it's a shame it got cancelled after season 1 and the manga got cancelled too.

LIVE OR LET DIE: A man wanders across an apocalyptic wilderness, from forest to ruined city, searching for his long lost wife. There are flashbacks to when his daughter was with in this quest. Another survivor more efficiently dispatches Zombies. Eventually they meet and journey together. In German with English subtitles, running time 33 minutes. This is an Award winning Short. 7/10.

I've found it online & bookmarked it.

Dead County: The Dead Walk in Nottingham. So whats new? Four survivors have a tough time avoiding Zombies especially as one of them has her ex-boyfriend, now a revenant, tied to a tree and feeds him. Zombie make up isn't very convincing but over-all not bad for a low budget amateur production. Elements of found footage and a homage to Planet Of Terror. Running time 41 minutes. 4.5/10.

The Aftermath: A Found Footage film about the aftermath of a Zombie Apocalypse. A Woman finds a vidcam and starts recording her adventures scavenging and dodging Zombies. With two companions she goes in search of a colony of survivors. But is one of them untrustworthy? Elements of dark humour and horror. Running time 18 minutes. 6/10

The Running Dead: A fan film inspired by The Walking Dead, made on a budget of $1,000, 32m 29s. Satisfactory opening as Zombies who could qualify for the Olympics catch and eat people alive. Good Zombie make up at start but gets patchy as film develops. Not all of the effects are great but acting, story and dialogue are ok. Five survivors, 4 teens and a bad ass grumpy cop, forage for supplies in the aftermath of an Outbreak. It captures the existential despair of The Walking Dead.

Dark Souls: #thingsnot2say2yourdaughterwhensheturnszombie "Are You Hungry?" Norwegian Zombies! Men in orange jumpsuits attack and drill into the heads of their victims, also adding a strange substance. The casualties appear to die but then come back to life, mostly in a vegetative state. The number of victims reach 30 but the police appear clueless. The father of one of the afflicted starts investigating...

Good Horror-Thriller. In Norwegian, English subtitles. 95 minutes. 6/10.

Dead 7: This is a post-apocalyptic Western that follows a group of gunslingers as they look to rid a small town of a zombie plague.

Gave up on it after 25 minutes. Zombies ate the Script Writer's & Director's brains.

Probably deserves the 3.5/10 Score at IMDb.

I guess you caught this on the Syfy Channel?

This is what put me off watching it...
(It's) something of a reunion project for at least a few members of the Backstreet Boys ... and also served as something of a creative truce between that boy band and its longtime rival, NSYNC, as Joey Fantone would also be in the cast.

Night of the Living Deb, supposed to be a twist on zombie comedies because it has a female lead character (Deb) instead of a male one. And it's really funny! The main actress is really good company for a zombie apocalypse, plus Ray Wise is in it for extra quality. Also has that puncturing of the zombie concept in it that killjoys point out, but here is actually welcome (no spoilers). Check Deb out.

The Dead 2: India. Sequel to The Dead, which was set in Africa. A savage film. Indian soldiers dispatch anyone who is bitten with a bullet to the back of the head. What looks like a Zombie Mother Teresa attacks and bites. Children devour their father who has come to save them. The newly buried dead disturb the earth as people make their way through a graveyard.

These Zombies are slow-moving, reminiscent in some scenes of Romero's original Night Of The Living Dead. Our hero is an American engineer working on a wind farm when the outbreak occurs. He needs to get to Mumbai to link up with his pregnant Indian lover. Accompanied by a young boy he travels across the desolate landscape. 7/10.

The Rezort: A Zombie outbreak, 2 billion dead. But we beat them. Seven years later and The Rezort opens, yiu can go on a Zafari and hunt Zombies! What could possibly go wrong? The Rezort is located on an island off the African coast in the Atlantic.

Something did go wrong, we see news clips about an incident, a chap with a plummy accent stoutly defends The Rezorts CEO: "A woman of vision, helping to rebuild the economy, providing jobs". I bet she'd get a job as CEO of an NHS Trust. The Brimnstone Protocol will have to implemented. That means carpet bombing the island. The island will be evacuated but a party of Zafari tourists is miles away from the puck up point without transport.

A solid Zombie Action film, pretty gory with fast moving Undead. Shades of Westworld as systems break down and Zombies are unleashed. 1h 27m. 6/10.

That's nuts, it's not even out in the UK yet, they've just started publicising it here and now it's been pirated online already! No wonder distributors are struggling to make profits.

Its on youtube, the assumption is that its there legally. If there's a complaint, films are taken down immediately.

The copy on youtube isn't high quality. It was actually released in the UK in June 2015.

Not necessarily, I've read complaints about YT's policy towards piracy and rip-offs. I think you even have to contact the pirate personally to ask them to take it down or something. Good luck with that!

Or maybe just Ireland? It's showing at Frightfest at the end of August was its "English Premiere".

Its UK premiere was at the BFI, 22 June 2015. It showed at the Edinburgh International Film Festival on 17 June 2016. Its likely to go to DVD next.

The last fresh spin I saw (And I'm starting to wonder what to do with my old VHS tapes in my dining room) was probably the French production of Dela More, Dela Morte .. art house zombie stuff .. then Billy Connoly in Fido .. every potential problem has been covered over every decade since the late 70's (and Romero's late 60's genre defining 'Night Of The Living Dead') .. I haven't completely given up on zombie films yet but I have managed to avoid a lot of the worst recent ones ..
