I don't particularly care whether hypnosis is good or bad or whatever, but I do find it interesting that the bit about Doc Simon trying to help Barney by leading him into a benign set of memories never seems to get a mention anywhere else. Am I the only one who finds that interesting? That was Doc Simon's specialty, and he was apparently quite good at it.

Edit: I did not mean to derail this thread with a discussion of the Hill episode, whatever it was. Only to point out how hypnosis is often misrepresented, even by omission. I don't have an opinion on what happened to Betty and Barney. More interesting to me is the attitude people seem to have about it. Like Roswell, many people are keen to discount it. Others seem equally desperate to conclude it was aliens. Everyone has to sleep at night.

Just wondering, have the police ever officially used Hypnoses to try and get a clearer statement from a witness? I have heard , like what was mentioned above, about how in the field of Ufology the hypnotist can give loaded questions. Such has mentioning aliens and spacecraft, this plants the idea of such things into the persons mind who is already in a suggestive state.

Well, we have discussed this in DETAIL. So when anyone like yourself asks anything I can answer, then I will. Most questions I have asked Frank myself so know what to say. Anything I can,t answer then I can ask him and get feedback.
 
Having watched the YouTube video, I reckon Frank didn't hear the motorcyclist come up behind them because he was so distracted by Nicola's beauty. Perhaps she reacted strangely to his comment about Midsummer simply because she had become fed up with his conversation: he did say there had been a lull.

It is certainly an odd incident, but I cannot imagine it was a time or dimensional slip, and I don't believe in fairies.

I've walked that path. If someone was wrestling a motorbike along behind you, I reckon you would know it, distracted or not.

But would you though? If the bike was freewheeling without the motor running or freewheeling out of gear I doubt that you would notice. Distracted by an apparently very attractive female I occasionally have been very err distracted.

I don't think you appreciate just how rutted it is... you'd be wrestling the bike the whole way.
 
Listening to the youtube video, I wondered if there was something going on that Frank had interupted. Was something secretly being dumped in the river and the people he met didn't want Frank to see it?
Also, I had a funny image of a sea lion instead of a dog - and aren't sea lions also said to be animals who gave rise to mermaid myths?

It was more rough and rutted back in the early 80s, due to it been the main path to the lake. When the weather was wet it turned up the path when it was walked on, and when dried it was all pitted and rutted all the way down.

There was a lot of loose stones and roots showing on the lane during the early 80s.

In the late 80s or early 90s there was a lot of restoration work around coway sale, this included the banks of the river Thames and clearing of the paths ( they put some small stepping like stones at the bottom of the lane for when it floods.) Around 2016 there was a new path that runs adjacent on the other side of the river, this is the one used mostly these days. There is still use of the old path in the trees, but when the weather is wet or just after rain most folks that use this path tend to go on the new path.

I might get Frankj to draw a pic of how she looked when her face changed and became angry looking. That's when Frank got freaked out, and this guy went up against kids of the Mafia when he was around 7 lol. So it must have been quite something.
 
You mean that wasn't her angry face?!?!? :oops: :D

More seriously, and in reference to my jokey comment above, I think my fear is influenced by what may be a mistake: my assumption, influenced by films and books and real-life accounts, that Nicola's beauty might be a 'mask'. I don't mean that she is really a 'hag' - as often featured in roadside ghost stories - but rather that she may not be as she appears.

This is a case where it is very beneficial to visit the site in person. the lane is very narrow and You would definitely notice someone (especially on what sounds like a Harley fat boy or Triumph road bike being pushed along the lane). He told me when he turned around he was close enough to touch the guy, so we are talking around a yard or so.

Then there's the case of having to turn the bike around and get 2 people and a bike out of the lane so fast without a sound.

The only way I can explain it in any "Rational" way is this. Did the fall from the tree cause a bigger head injury than Frank was aware of, I'm Not talking about like in the movies where any tap on the head can give result to seeing and talking to a 6 foot bunny. But maybe something that can turn what is a normal encounter into something that is experinced totally differently. I have been wanting to contact a specialist and give them the story and see if such a thing could account to the High Strangeness here.
